Despite the fact that we've seen a handful of official images from X-Men: Dark Phoenix, there's no sign of a trailer and plot details are very much being kept under wraps. We know that it will loosely adapt "The Dark Phoenix Saga" from the comic books, while first-time director Simon Kinberg will be behind the camera after penning the screenplay. So, are we getting another X-Men: Apocalypse or X-2?

While many fans are no doubt hoping for another action-packed blockbuster, it sounds like the franchise may be going back to its roots based on comments from Ready Player One star Tye Sheridan.

"Jean goes crazy in the movie," he said when asked for details on what fans should expect from the upcoming Marvel Comics adaptation. "Well, Cyclops doesn’t think she’s going crazy; Cyclops just thinks she’s gotta work some stuff out. It’s interesting, the drama in the movie. We treated this movie as much more of a drama versus a superhero film." The question is, is that the right direction?

We won't know until X-Men: Dark Phoenix reaches
theaters but there's a very good chance that this will be the final X-Men movie from Fox is the Disney deal goes through late this year/early next year.
