David Slade Makes It Clear That He Will NOT Be Directing The Wolverine!

Despite recent online speculation and rumor that Fox might hire Slade to direct The Wolverine after the shocking news that Darren Aronofsky had pulled out, he has now debunked this as well...

These past few days, many sites (including MTV Splash Page and Deadline) have speculated and alluded to David Slade taking over from Darren Aronofsky on The Wolverine. Why have they been doing this? Well, as I'm sure you know, Slade was believed to be one of the frontrunners to helm the movie before Aronofsky was chosen, and the fact that production is so much further along than it is on Daredevil has led many to believe Fox might even switch the directors!

Well, not according to David Slade:

What's interesting though, is whether he means that he was NEVER in talks to direct The Wolverine or has not been asked since Aronofsky pulled out. Either way, I'd say that this is definitive proof that the next comic book movie we'll be seeing from the 30 Days of Night director is Daredevil. Unless he pulls out too of course.

Aronofsky was/is the best man for this job, but i believe Fox have something to do with his leavingthe project, Fox has completly screwed the X-Men franchise anyway tbh just leave it alone, especially when first class tanks at the box office.

I've read elsewhere that Fox may indeed shelve this movie for a year or so and NOT rush on finding a replacement director. Maybe there is a glimmer of hope for Aronofsky to come back on board.

weneedrevelation, as long as the Stealth guy doesn't want it I'm cool with that.

Good one robbo. Fox and Aronfsky have been working together for a while now and they plan to continue that for the foreseeable future, but I'm sure it's ALL Fox's fault for Darren leaving.

in my opinion just get Brian singer he knows the character hell he had him hog up his 2 movies lol

not to mention the wolverine flashback in x2 was better than all of origins

and the script writer for wolverine is his go to guy for screen writing anyways(guy wrote usual suspects and valkyrie) which singer directed

believe it or not im not a massive fox hater, but for Aronofsky to walk this far into the pre production kinda smelt bad tbh, maybe he didn't like how much of a big fat oar Fox were trying to put into the creative side of the movie i don't know im just specualting and trying to you know debate and kick some ideas around, not like have a fanboy vs fanboy P**sing match

I like Aronofsky but he comes across as a bit of a pretentious [female dog], I don't think it would take much to get him to walk. But maybe he actually doesn't want to leave the country while his personal family issues are ongoing. Hopefully this project is delayed a year and maybe leave the door open for Aronofsky to step back in.

Haha Yeah, Stealth sucked. As for the Blade guy, apparently he's doing a remake of The Crow, he's not picking up so I cant confirm.

CaptainA, don't make fun, nerd rage is a very serious illness.

Don't forget the Wrestler, Darren and Fox go way back and it wont be the last time they work together either.

I was mostly speculating there anyway, he probably left for the reasons he previously stated, plus they can't really film in Japan right now. And why did you change you user name??
