Work is slowly moving ahead on The Wolverine, a movie which will see Hugh Jackman take the character to Japan in order to explore another part of his origins. Talking to Digital Spy, the actor praised Mark Bomback and Christopher McQuarrie's screenplay as well as commenting on what drew him to the story based on the 1982 arc by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, adding that he's been "longing" to make this movie for a while now. You can hear all that and more in the following video interview.

I'm just glad he wont be in first class 2.
I'm sick of 'wolverine and the x-men' with all the focus on wolverine and pathetic cameos for other members of the team.

Why so long for MOS? They are filming now

I wish they would follow the Japan saga 100% like the comics. The Wolverine should NOT be set in the past before he meets the X-Men. It should be a side story from "X-Men: The Last Stand". It should feature the current X film cast in cameos like the comic did.

they pushed MoS into the new year to give them more time with post production

there have only been two times where wolverine felt like wolverine

1. the cage fight in X1

2. berserker rage in X2 (in the corridor)

the rest of the time he is just hugh jackman playing hugh jackman

Am I the only one who doesn't wanna watch another Wolverine movie at all?
I mean is not just because I hate FOX doing CBMs, but I just tired to see the character having his own movies, after a trilogy of x-men movies with the focus on him, he was the only character from that movies to get his own movie chance!
I just not a big fan of Wolverine, never was really.

How great would a Wolverine and Hulk movie be...?

@ lucaxmen

I agree. he totally hogged the xmen movies.
you have characters like nightcrawler, colossus etc reduced to one line so wolverine can chew up scenery and when the guy is in his OWN MOVIE it flops. that shows how much the general audience want to see wolverine on the big screen.

keep him away from xmen first 2

There should be lots of Ninja´s and berserk scenes of Wolverine fighting against them.

Ninja Assassin, True Legend and 13 Assassins are good examples what kind of fight scenes and style this movie needs if it wants to success.

Wolverine movie. Tired of seeing Hugh to be honest.

Hmm...We'll see. I feel like this will be a good one. But I did enjoy X-men Orgins: Wolverine. :/
I just don't think it's all that bad as people clame it to be.

how about a mask ? the wolverine i grew up with had a mask like 80% of the time. Nolan's batman has a mask.. so can this not work for wolverine?

It amazes me how whiny and bitchy you all are. I doubt any of you have ever worked in the movie business. This means you know zero about casting or writing or directing a film. This is any kind of film. You live to criticize about things you don't get. Movies can be based on other sources. They are not duplicates. You don't like it don't watch it. I hated the entire run of Tim Burton's Batman so guess what. I don't watch them. I love when your it's not like the comic. Well no shit Sherlock. So get out of mommy's basement and get the sand out of your vaginas.

Yes, it´s the only thing missing, give us the JOHN BYRNE brown uniform with the big batman ears.

It could look cool just like in the "HAVOK/WOLVERINE:MELTDOWN" graphic novel.
