Christopher McQuarrie Has Been Hired To Write The Script For Wolverine 2!

This is great news as the screen writer for such films as "The Usual Suspects," and "Valkyrie" has been hired seemingly to save this franchise!

According to "The Hollywood Reporter" Christopher McQuarrie has been hired by Fox to script the sequel to this years "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

The trades also confirms that the sequel WILL in fact take pages from Frank Miller's run on Wolverine, putting the mutant avenger in Japan.

With McQuarrie's involvement one has to wonder if Bryan Singer will try to get involved as the two of them have worked together in the past on the first X-men film.

We can only hope that they learn from their mistakes. At least they hired a solid writer this time around.

I actually do hope that Bryan Singer does it. Probably a longshot...but it would be nice. He did a good job with 2 Wolverine-centric X films already.

@ Ozy: I cant say I disagree with you. X1 and x2 were way more put together then the third outing, and the way they willingly got away from the source material in Origins wolverine when they had absolutley no need to, was a terrible let down. What hap to Fox anyway, they USED to be the premier movie making studio.

I think FOX went down hill ever since the star wars PREQUELS (minus the two X-MEN movies of course),

I blame GEORGE LUCAS! ; D

HULK was all to do with RAGE! Damn, don't laugh but i watched the tv movie last nite on tv lol!

Either way, complaining won't do a lot of good...there isn't even anything to complain about on THIS movie yet. We barely know anything. I'll stay hopeful for now.

I wouldnt mind if Singer comes back to the X-Universe. I think he would make a good Wolverine movie. Like others have said he made two X-Men movies that were basically Wolverine stories.

LEEE- I kind of liked Revenge of the Sith though. Lucas is to blame for the way the prequels turned out. I wouldnt mind seeing a movie based of the video game the Force Unleashed or the comic book Legacy.

Damn why is everyone hatin on fox(ok I know they [frick] up some movies) but they have some way good movies that are fairly recent I.e. The departed, fast and furious,v for vendetta, night at the museum, ect. I think that its all about the director he has to stick to his guns like ror said on the other jackman post no studio is goin to keep firin directors til they get the right one I mean if they had lets say jon favreau(don't know if I spelled it right) or someone like that we would have good xmen movies(all of them were alright) but could've been classics like lord of the rings, iron man, or the departed which I mentioned before imagine how cool it would be to see a real iceman, rogue flyin and beast kickin ass hairless in their costumes

V FOR VENDETTA is WARNER BROTHERS! @ Sabre.

I think they just mess up any fantasy movies lol.

Ozy - You said if Fox loses the rights you hope Sony gets them?? How about if Fox lost the rights, MARVEL gets them...they have a pretty solid track record building up of making their own stuff!

sigh. fanboy delusion.

LEE - Yeah man, I'm with you. I wish they would have spent more time on him actually becoming Vader. Not the whole movie..but maybe more than 5 minutes?
