Michael Fassbender's Contract Ends With X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
With the recent news of Wolverine 3 being the last film for Hugh Jackman as his character, Michael Fassbender in a recent interview revealed that X-Men: Apocalypse is the last film under his contract!
It seems as though after Michael Fassbender portrays Magneto in X-Men: Apocalypse, his contract with the franchise will end. In a recent interview with Variety, Fassbender revealed that he would love to continue to play the menacing villain, but his contract says otherwise. “I will shoot a hundred of them! The contract is in three film deals, and this is the last of that.” He then adds, “But I’ll be curious to see what happens next.”
With that revealed, we all have to wait and see how things go (mainly after the release of X-Men: Apocalypse). Will he re-sign with the franchise? Well, if X-Men: Apocalypse is a huge success around the world, and the money is right, we can all expect to see Michael Fassbender suit back up as Magneto a few more times!
Even though, we all know that Hugh Jackman as well as Jennifer Lawrence will not return after their next X-Men films, the big question is prompted: What will be done with those characters? I can see two possible things happening in the near future. One, they could always re-cast the actors like they did with Storm and Jean Grey. Or they could possibly go with my second option and kill the characters off. Can you think off something better to do with the character? Sound off below in the comment section with your thoughts!
