Olivia Munn Talks About The "Sexual" Costume For 'Psylocke' In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
Olivia Munn (The Newsroom) talks here about wearing that comic book accurate - and extremely sexy - Psylocke costume for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse, and recalls a very embarrassing crotch related moment during her first day of shooting. Check it out!
When it was revealed that Olivia Munn had been chosen to play Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse, pretty much all of us were surprised by the news. With that surprise came some concern, as it seemed highly unlikely that director Bryan Singer would give the character her classic costume. Well, to say it looks like it's been torn from the pages of the comics would be an understatement, and Munn is well aware of just how sexy it is. "Psylocke’s outfit or uniform or suit or whatever you want to call it is very sexual," she admits in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"I’ve got like my thigh-highs and a halter, but the thing about that, and that was important, is that it doesn’t matter what I’m wearing as long as we’re all aware of who she is," she reasons. "She’s very strong and she’s very lethal and she’s very powerful, and it doesn’t really matter what she’s wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence."
Regardless, wearing that tight costume had its disadvantages and led to a very embarrassing moment during her first day on set. "Now it fits like a glove, but it’s kind of hard because there’s been times where I’m pulling and it pops like a balloon, which did happen day one. Day one, I was like, ‘Uh, guys, uh, do we have a backup? Sorry I popped my crotch.'"
