Concept Art Of Sentinels & Blink's Portals For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Okay. I'll say what has to be said (and I'm NOT hating either).

I'm SURE it will be cool and all . . .
But could the production designer(s) put their egos aside and have made them look at least a LITTLE like the comic?
Especially since we KNOW the average movie goer doesn't give a frock what they look like, they could have pleased everyone with a little more authenticity.

Fvcking designers should realize these properties are based of existing characters & concepts that come from a source (comics) that have established looks & functions.

Sorry but the retro Sentinals look cheap & weak,the future Sentinals look alien-like & shoot blasts from the face/head. Crap.
A design more akin to the giant Sentinals from comics with weapons from hands/eyes are preferred.
You may disagree...You have poor taste & shit on what made it great to begin with.

I feel like the designers already did that with the 70's sentinels. They look pretty damn close to the comic book version honestly. Not even Marvel Studios rips everything right off the comic book page as far as designs go. I may be in the minority, but I even thought the future sentinels were actually pretty creative designs after I found out they're based on Mystique's DNA

Not bashing the film however..
Take it for what it is but if those Sentinals were not called that & appeared,you would not recognize them as Sentinals.

The comic ones have a very cool & recognizable look to them that can be tweaked so that you could see them anywhere & instantly think: Holy Crap..That's a Sentinal!
The movie ones were threatening but the designers should have been more respectful & gave us REAL Sentinals.

It's INCREDIBLY easy to say that "inspiration" was drawn from the comic-source. That Catwoman movie drew "inspiration" from the fantasy of the comic.

Look NO ONE is asking for EXACT, precision replication of all of the visuals from the artist pen in the printed funny books. And yes, those future Sentinels are "actually pretty creative designs" based on Mystiques DNA. Don't really care. Bottom line is that they could, if they so desired, make the Sentinels MORE (not exactly), but MORE like the source. It would have ALSO shown massive amounts of creativity to make it work.

Interesting how some of the same people who complain about the sentinels not looking like the comics had no problem with how Marvel Studios was able to deviate from comic book characters costumes and appearances.

Sentinels have come in all shapes and sizes, throughout the years. So when you say "like the comic" You should be well versed in every variation.

@Bender, because he's really fukcing smart & because he can in the comics which is what this movie is based on. And yes actually, Mags is an engineering genius. If you're unfamiliar with the source material, he's an unparalleled genius in various fields.

The second sentinel concept looks beast. All in all they did a fantastic job with the sentinels. The reasoning for the future versions of them made sense, and fit well with the overall story and flow of the film. It would have been cool if they kept the overall design / shape of the future sentinels bodies of the future more like the 90's cartoon version, but the past sentinels satisfied that version enough for me. Blink was one of the coolest mutants in the film, and I hope we get to see more of her and this version of Quicksilver. I didn't think this version of Quicksilver was going to be good at all, and I was so wrong about that one. The actor for Quicksilver's role did an awesome job and he didn't feel out of place at all. I really love how they showed off his mutant speed. If Flash is ever brought to the big screen DC needs to take notes on this and do something different or it will seem like a complete rip off. This will be difficult I think seeing how Flash is supposed to be the fastest man alive. Great concept designs overall.

From what I've seen, the future sentinels look like a loose adaptation of Nimrod. And they're ridiculously over-powered, and terrifying. Sounds like sentinels to me.

Oh boohoo. They didn't look like a design that was created 30 years ago? The Sentinels didn't have abs and metal biceps for no reason? Get over it. Things change. What was cool and original 30 years ago is lame today. Get your heads out of your stupid coloring books and try thinking for yourselves for once.
