First 10 Minutes Of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Screens At CinemaCon

Fox unveiled a lengthy action sequence (which makes up about the first 10 minutes of the movie) from Bryan Singer's Days Of Future Past at CinemaCon this evening, and we have a detailed description of it for you after the jump. Be warned: Major SPOILERS ahead!

Some descriptions of the X-Men: Days Of Future Past footage Fox screened at CinemaCon today are coming in, and as usual Badass Digest provide the most detailed breakdown. The action sequence involves the Sentinel attack on the future mutant's base, and Kitty's attempt to zap Bishop's mind into the past while her teammates sacrifice themselves to buy her time. Yes, sounds very much like Bishop will also play a part in the '70s-set portion of the movie along with Wolverine. Anyway, here's the description.

Twentieth Century Fox

"The sequence was in the future, and Sentinels are dispatched to find and kill mutants living underground. Their delivery system (and the world) is reminiscent of The Matrix, but once the Sentinels - who can adapt to any situation and change their form - drill into the secret base it gets real good. The mutants on hand: Sunspot, Iceman, Bishop, Kitty Pryde, Blink and Warpath. Kitty Pryde and Bishop immediately run off while the other X-Men keep the semi-liquid metal robots busy. There are good action beats using the characters’ powers, especially Blink, whose portals allow Warpath to do some really fun run and jumps onto the Sentinels. Iceman glides around on an ice slide, and Sunspot becomes a being of lava and fire as he blasts robots. Kitty and Bishop (who uses Sunspot’s fire to charge his big dumb gun) are running off to a closet someplace. Bishop lays down and Kitty starts massaging his temples, and it becomes clear that she’s sending his consciousness back in time. The others are buying them minutes… with their lives. A Sentinel snaps Sunspot’s neck. Iceman has his head popped off and is crushed underfoot. Blink gets skewered. Warpath gets blasted to smithereens. But it was worth it! As the Sentinel breaks into the closet, blasting fire, Kitty looks up and says, “Too late, asshole!” and everything disappears. The past has been changed."

Sounds pretty good; but It'll be very interesting to see how this fits in with what we already know from the story. Thoughts?

The powers will look really cool visually. I'm glad Bishop gets to go back in time. Now I'm curious to see if the X-Men of the future die more than once!

suspend disbelief i can do, bishop and kitty fan service i get ,

but majic spell come on

i can think of 10 diff ways to send someone back in time

heres one: the adamantium in wolverines head obstructs prof xs telepath so kitty creates a gateway or intagible membrane

i got a really good one but im keeping it to myself because it involves to much context hint: involves spacial relations between time and space

Woah... just woah. I keep on forgetting how much the X-Men movies push for an R-rating at times like X2 and The Wolverine

Does Bishop going back in time setup Xmen: Apocalypse?

One would think so. Especially if he doesn't return in the rest of the movie.

I'm confused too. I wonder if they will explain in the film how this works. It should be interesting given the time travel element will have to deal with two timelines.
NightBoyWonder
NightBoyWonder - 3/27/2014, 1:35 PM
I'm getting the feeling that Kitty developed this power and sends Bishop into the present which is actually when Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine, Storm and Colossus are alive. Bishop is sent and tells them that there is a way to go into the past and stop this and tells them that Kitty can send them into the past using Xavier's help but they need to do it at that moment and in order for them to do it without messing up a time-space continuum they send Wolverine into his younger body because of his mutation and because he's Hugh Jackman. They send him into the past, where most of the movie takes place and flashes back to the future which is actually the present at certain points in the film. And I'm getting the feeling that all the X-Men aside from Wolverine of the present are all killed off, rebooting the series to pick up from this movie.

I Agree. People claim that they want X-Men rights to Marvel, but they wouldn't even be able to do a scene as violent as Wolverine's rampage in the school

Probably due to fantasy violence. Blow someone's head off with an ak=r rated now it off with a lightsaber= pg13. Crush a normal head= r rated. Crush a iceman head= pg13

How and when did kitty get that type of power? Any way I'm real interested in seeing this movie. Bit I'm more interested on seeing the winter solider and guardians of the galaxy.
