Nightcrawler Almost Had An Appearance In X-MEN: DOFP

X-Men Days of Future Past was close to having the character make an appearance, hit the jump to hear what Alan Cumming had to say on the matter.

Of course rumors have popped up about his return in early months, but Cumming sets the record straight as to why he wasn't available.

There was a time when it was maybe going to happen, but I wasn't available so it didn't happen. I really loved that film I was in, don't get me wrong, I thought it was a great film, but it wasn't my favourite experience of my life.

So there you have it, what do you think? Leave your thoughts in the usual place.

I really didn't expect to see Nightcrawler in DoFP because in the original comic book his character was DEAD!

However it would've been neat to see him going up against some of Trask armed forces while delivering goods to the children in the Mutant Concentration Camps!

The good news about Days of Future Past is that there's a high chance of seeing a more traditional X-Men line-up!

Nightcrawler, Gambit, Colossus, Jean, Scott, Beast and Wolverine are all very well alive.

As for the Brotherhood...

Sabertooth, Blob, Toad, Mystique and even Juggeraut are all around roaming somewhere!

I love planning ahead. :)

@ezio - All that you said, dude, ditto.

Man, I REALLY hope we get Nightcrawler back in these films. Cast another actor; doesn't seem like Cumming will come back to do it again (which is unfortunate). But the guy is getting a bit old and for Kurt, we need young blood to play the swashbuckling, suave, kick ass elf. Here's to Nightcrawler....

So why didn't they just replace him then? There are many other great actors that could play Nightcrawler. He is definitely a fan favorite from the films. What about even Ray Park taking the helm as Nightcrawler?

It all depends on what timeline a sequel to Days of Future Past takes place. If the next film is set in the 80's there's a high chance of us seeing a much younger nightcrawler it seems as if all the X-Men films are taking place 10 years apart!

First Class: 60's

Days of Future Past: 70's

(Wherever they go next) 80's I think there's a good chance we'll see Sinister next. I think it'll be best to save Scott and Jean for a the sequel. It'll add more girth to the story of how they joined the X-Men (in singer's universe that is) By having sinister capture a young Scott and Jean would be somewhat like a rescue mission/birth of a new team.

Magneto Solo Film

Would be pretty dope to see Fassbender construct and build the society of Genosha.

I forgot to mention Deapool too! lol What the heck is happening with that movie?? C'mon Fox give it the green light!

I'd also be open towards seeing a Scott Summers/Family Origins. It wold be nice to see the film end with Scott's father setting coordinates to find earth in search of being reconnected with his two sons.

Alan cumming stated that the only reason he didnt do this film is because of the make up.
