We have heard quite a bit from Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and James McAvoy (Professor X) on where they would like to see their characters go in a sequel to X-Men: First Class, but we were never sure if a sequel would even happen until Fox hired Simon Kinberg to write the script. So now it looks as if we will get to see if their ideas will match up to whatever story is produced. But what of the writing/directing team that were such a large part of the firt movie's success? Well speaking to MTV Jane Goldman comments on both actors ideas for their characters, and reveals that she would be happy to work on (we assume re-writes on Kinberg's original draft) the script, but only if Vaughn should return too..
"James and Michael brought so much to them that I think it's entirely natural to be talking about where those characters would go next. It was inherent in their stories and their arcs. There are so many interesting places to go."
"In terms of what's going on with that, again from my point of view, it's down to what Matthew [Vaughn] decides to do. If he decides he wants to direct the next one and if he wants me on board, I'm 100 percent there."
And we likely won't know if Vaughn is on board until Kinberg delivers that script. So would you guys like to see Vaughn and Goldman return? Or would you rather a new team get a shot at bringing the X-Men to life?
