Daniel Craig Praises James Bond Script

Daniel Craig discusses director Sam Mendes, the script, and the reason you haven't seen any new or interesting gadgets in his version of James Bond.

Craig boldly states that the new Bond movie has a better script then Casino Royale. Hard to believe since to me, Casino Royale is easily in my top 3 Bond Films of all time. I really appreciate this newer version taking on a more realistic approach to the females, the dialogue, and the technology. As discussed in the interview, Austin Powers surprisingly influenced the new Bond films quite a bit. Check it out.

Craig said: "I think it's a great choice because Sam has a fervour and energy to really direct a Bond movie with a capital B.

"He'll feet-first run himself into it, [he's] read every book and just soaked up everything about it. I read the script the other day and I'm more excited about this than I was about Casino because we've kind of got a classic Bond movie plus lots of other things."

Asked if a "classic" Bond meant a return for Q, Craig suggested that the new movie would continue to be light on gadgets.

"Trying to find something that's new and interesting is really difficult... Mostly, the technology is in the public arena now or some type of it," he commented.

Craig's third outing as James Bond will be released on October 26, 2012.

Favreau's hand motions that he paired with "it's in the DNA" are classic.

Leave out the gadgets and Bond will stay on track like the source material and not like the crazy films of the past!

Yeah no gadgets. Maybe new cool weapons and some spying stuff and Q as the guy who makes him that shit. That would be satisfying enough.

I really hate having to x out an intrusive popup ad to enjoy Teabag's tasteful contribution to this discussion. And yes, that IS the best bit in Casino Royale.

I for one miss the gadgets. That was part of the fun of a Bond film to me. As for other changes, Bond does need to change with the times to remain relevant and so we can continue to enjoy new adventures. If this next film is capturing that classic Bond spirit, I'm definitely on board for it.

You guys should remember that the gadgets are one of the things that made JB. Without them, he's just another spy. SO bring back the darn things already!!!!!!!!

I for one am glad they got rid of the use of Gadgets especially as the last 3 movies with Bronsan it felt as if instead of concentrating on a solid script they were spending all the time coming up with wacky new gadgets.

I hate everything they doing to Bond not improving it a bit. Don't like the Craig man look like an Aussie crocodile man. I hate that theres no Q or gadgets. The director is trying this almost realistic Bond thing its crazy. Who wants to watch a boring MI6 agent dodge bullets. Frahchise has been going forever, in the next couple of years Bond will fade out unless the director put his money up and I don't think thats happening.
