WWE Superstar Roman Reigns Has Joined The Cast Of HOBBS & SHAW Opposite Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has taken to Instagram to confirm that his cousin Roman Reigns has joined the cast of Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw. Find out who he's going to be playing after the jump...

Hobbs & Shaw will be the first Fast & Furious spinoff movie, and it's set to put the spotlight on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's breakout character Agent Luke Hobbs as he teams up with Jason Statham's formerly villainous Deckard Shaw.

The two have a great deal of chemistry on screen so pairing them up makes perfect sense, and it's now been revealed that WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has landed a role in the movie as Hobbs' brother. As you may already know, the former Universal Champion is currently battling leukaemia and has been forced to take an extended leave of absence from WWE as a result.

He's clearly doing well with his fight against cancer if he's well enough to shoot a role for what will actually be his big screen debut.

Reigns and Johnson are actually real-life cousins so it's easy to see why they've been cast as brothers in Hobbs & Shaw. Check out The Rock's full statement below and stay tuned for updates.

The brothers’ roar. A lil’ HOBBS & SHAW exclusive. Good times droppin’ sweat and spillin’ blood with my family, Roman Reigns who’ll be playing my brother in our FAST & FURIOUS UNIVERSE. I’m very proud of his focus, effort and authentic performance in our movie for his very first time on film. I’m also very grateful to spend this quality time with my cousin here in the islands as he takes life one day at a time to recover from leukemia. His perseverance and humility battling this challenge has inspired our entire family as well as millions around the world in our beloved @WWE Universe. Can’t wait to see the “Big Dog” return back to the ring - his positive & focused mindset to return is straight up next level. Til’ then, this sacred Samoan 🇼🇸 ground you stand on is nourished with our ancestors blood. Today, we nourish it with yours. #WelcomeRomanReigns #Brothers #HobbsAndShaw THIS SUMMER 🔥💪🏾

I had no idea he was battling cancer. That's so tough.

But it's cool he gets to work alongside his cousin.

(They should totally cast Momoa as well)

Hope he pulls through ok he is a great wrestler even though I still hate he beat Taker, I've not watch WWE since Wrestlemania last year due to my hate for Brock Lesnar. But will be watching Royal Rumble this weekend to try and get back into it.

Damn just goes to show how much of a bitch cancer is, glad he's doing good though. I don't follow wrestling so I don't know how good his acting is, but just going on look alone if he ever wanted to have a movie career he would make one hell of a Conan the Barbarian.
