GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Star Dave Bautista To Play Valiant's ETERNAL WARRIOR
He may currently be getting ready for Avengers 4 but Dave Bautista is said to be eyeing another comic book adaptation as he prepares to take on the role of Valiant Entertainment's Eternal Warrior...
He's played Drax in two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, starred in a James Bond movie and will next be seen in upcoming instalments of the Avengers and Blade Runner franchises. Now, WWE Superstar turned actor Dave Bautista is already eyeing another big comic book movie. Valiant Entertainment is attempting to create a shared universe and it sounds like Eternal Warrior is going to be next for them.
Responding to a fan question on Twitter, Bautista has said that he's "really excited" about the project and added: "We are currently working to get the script fan-worthy, and then we'll be full on from there." It's still early days then, but it's a role which sounds like it would be a good fit for the actor:
"The concept behind Eternal Warrior is a simple one: Resurrected using a mysterious artifact after a battlefield death millennia ago, Gilad has become functionally immortal with two unexpected side effects. Firstly, he can be killed — it's just that he will come back to life afterwards, no matter how painful a process that might be. Secondly, across the centuries, he falls into the service of the Earth itself, defending the Geomancer, a being chosen by the planet to act as its champion in times of need. Needless to say, neither being the Geomancer nor their defender is an entirely easy — or un-dangerous — proposition."
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Eternal Warrior will be tied to the upcoming Archer & Armstrong movie being developed by director Ruben Fleischer. In the comics, the character is the brother of Armstrong and they have a third sibling who stars in the Timewalker series. It's possible that the plan is for them to all get their own movies before being brought together for a crossover.
Valiant is also developing Shadowman, Harbinger, and Bloodshot, the latter of which may end up starring Suicide Squad's Jared Leto. Are you guys excited about a possible Eternal Warrior movie?
