Two years after Jason Bourne hit theaters, Universal has been virtually silent on the future on the franchise. With mixed reactions from general audiences, it is no surprise that the studio has been very careful on what to do next. Currently, due to a Jason Bourne follow up looking unlikely, Universal has opted to bring the next addition to the small screen.

Treadstone, which has been ordered to series by USA, will focus on the CIA organization that turned Jason Bourne into a living weapon. According to Variety, the freshman season will see a number of new agents on international missions following activation.

Though franchise veterans Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon are not involved at this point, there remains substantial talent behind the scenes. Heroes' Tim Kring will write the series, while 99 Homes director Ramin Bahrani will helm the pilot. Both will serve as executive producers on the project.

Interested in this. I liked the world.

If they could use Moby's Extreme Way as the theme song of the show, better!

99 homes was a really good movie. I'd watch off the strength of that director alone.

The treadstone program is such a great premise - shadow agencies operating within the monolithic military industrial complex of the american government. Reminds me of X-men 2. I hope they continue to story from legacy and have genetically modified supersoldiers, that would be badass. Bourne could kick Bond's ass!

Let’s just hope it’s more season 1 Heroes Tom Kring and not seasons 2-5 of Heroes Tom Kring.

99 homes was a pretty good film. I enjoyed Garfield's performance.

I'll give this show a shot, but there's no way it'll live up to the first 2 Bourne films.
