Although it hasn't been officially announced yet, the British actress is allegedly set to play the long time flirting partner of the Secret Agent.

Jane Moneypenny, better known as Miss Moneypenny, is secretary to M, who is Bond's boss and head of the British Secret Service (MI6). She has been potrayed in a lot of the movies as having some romantic tension with 007 but this relationship has never been explored. Atleast not to my knowledge. If what the Daily Mail is reporting is true, i personally think this is a better deal for the actress as this could lead to more roles in future installments as opposed to a one time romp in the sack. Naomie will be the fourth actress to portray this character on the big screen.



Well, it hasn’t been officially announced yet, but the UK’s Daily Mail is reporting this morning that the secretive role Naomie Harris has long been in the running for, since we first announced that she was being considered for a part in the next James Bond movie, is not quite THE Bond girl role, but rather, Miss Moneypenny, assistant to M, James Bond’s boss

I'll wait till I hear some thing official but she's a good actress pretty sure there going to change up miss moneypenny alot since her role wasn't much and how she was portrayed in the past just wouldn't jive with the rebooted bond franchise at the moment

@Nephillim I am guessing you haven't seen recent Bond movies because if you did you would know theres no such thing as corny in the new movies so how about not jumping to a conclusion and guess what GL was corny

@Hellsing, I think he's just noting that the name itself is corny, yet some people treat the world of James Bond with the utmost respect while scoffing at the idea of a GL movie.

I don't care who they cast, as long as they keep Moneypenny an average woman. That's the whole point... She romanticizes Bond and his adventures, and he flirts shamelessly with her, but he'd never act on it. She represents the public that gets to stay innocent because he's out there doing the dirty work. He'll bed every other woman that crosses his path, but not her. If she, as tthe average citizen, doesn't get to stay untouched by his world, then all of the black marks against his soul were for nothing.

If she's made into just another Bond girl, either by being seductive or dangerous, then the point of the character is lost.

I wouldn't be pissed if she were the next Moneypenny, but I'd like them to get someone else. I just don't think she personally would be a good fit for it. I'd picture her more so filling the role of someone like Xenia or May Day or Volpe....a tough side-woman, as opposed to the flirtatious and pitiful secretary.
