Jerry Bruckheimer has announced via Twitter that the lead female role of 2017´s Dead Men Tell No Tales will be played by fan-favorite actress Kaya Scoledario. The actress, 22, has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows but she is best known for starring in E4´s Skins and last year´s The Maze Runner. She steps into the shoes left by Keira Knightley and Penelope Cruz as Jack Sparrow´s female companion/ love interest. The film is already deep into pre-production and we should expect further announcements this season.
She joins the cast that so far consists of Johnny Depp reprising his iconic character Jack Sparrow and Javier Bardem (Skyfall) who will play the villian, Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg (Kon Tiki) are directing the movie and Jerry Bruckheimer is reprising his producer duties. The film will be released July 7, 2017.
