SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING's Tom Holland Teases Preparation For His Upcoming UNCHARTED Movie Role

A now-deleted video from Tom Holland teases the actor's preparation for his role in Sony's Uncharted film project. Check out the video to see how Holland is researching his role as young Nathan Drake...

Sony hasn't made any recent announcements regarding its Uncharted movie project, but that isn't stopping actor Tom Holland from preparing for his role as the young Nathan Drake.

The Spider-Man: Homecoming star recently took to his Instagram account and shared a video featuring the title screen for the PlayStation 4 game Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection - a compilation featuring Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception remastered in HD - along with the words "For research purposes." Holland appears to have since removed the video - perhaps at Sony's request - but not before GameZone's Cade Ondor archived it.

Movie adaptations of popular video games don't typically have a happy ending, mostly because they don't stick to the source material. It must be reassuring to Sony fans to see Holland at least taking interest in the PlayStation games to help get in the right mindset of a young Nathan Drake.

The Uncharted movie has been in development for quite a while now with writer Joe Carnahan having revealed earlier this year that he finally completed his rewrite of the script. With Shawn Levy on board to direct and Holland teasing his "research" for the role, it would appear as though the Uncharted movie is finally heading towards production.

Gonna keep throwing this out there, Jeremy Renner for Nathan Drake. All the man casting choices have gotten to be too old, and I think Renner is just in the sweet spot to pull it off. Plus he can do the charming rogue thing pretty well.

I really think Holland is some pretty solid casting for young Nate. Drake and Spider-Man have a whole lot in common, being down on their luck everymen. I'm not getting my hopes up because we're talking Sony here, but I think there's hope.

(Just think it's a shame there probably won't be any Elena in this movie. SAD FACE!)

So, nobody wants him in this role anyway and now, despite that, he decides to let us know "Oh, by the way; I haven't even played these games"

Really wasted opportunity not casting brett Dalton(Grant ward,Mike on until dawn) as nathan drake. If the laura croft movie is successful, maybe even a crossover of some sort.

@TheRealMandarin - That guy is not a very convincing actor. He has the look, but not the acting chops. Doubt he's as athletic as Holland, either.
