The guys over at 24 Frames are reporting that Sly will not being directing the sequel to 'The Expendables', and is instead currently meeting with potential directors for the movie.

The same report is also claiming that the films script has been written by Ken Kaufman (Space Cowboys) and David Agosto and as it stands right now, all the original cast is set to return although it hasn't been officially confirmed yet.

Not many other details are known about the film right now, but I think it's safe to say that we'll be seeing some big additions to the cast, we might even get to see Arnold Schwarzenegger have some more screen time in this film (If he's in it). There's definitely no shortage of action stars for this movie, just please god no Jean Claude Van Damme.

@comedian03: Aw, there's always room for Van Dame. Don't hate, seriously.

ANY-ways.. I think this is very good news as Expendables sucked story-wise and direction IMO. It was a shallow script. The screen time was blah and certain scenarios just made no sense and did not fit to the consistency flow of the story.(Rouke and Sly's "deep" moment)

So this new direction they're orchestrating to take is good news. I hope the script writer makes sense with this one. I don't want another action no-brainer. You guys may fancy that typa thing, but nooot me. I want my intellect stimulated.

they need to add Chuck Norris, Mr. T, Steven Sagal, JCVD, Wesley Snipes, Vin Disel, Dwayne Johnson, and REB BROWN!!!!.....it's an over the top action movie to begin with so lets go even more crazy with the casting.

They needed a little more humor. Kurt Russel should be part of this project.

@JYcowboy....oh yeah Kurt Russel, Gerad Butler, Paul Bently(Priest), Harrison Ford....any old school action hero from the 80s and 90s need to be in this sequel

WTF are you talking about? Why not Jean Claude Van Damme??? He is the man! He is the main reason why i'm waiting a secuel for the expendables. and if you have doubts of his acting skills, watch the movie JCVD. he may be the best actor of all those guys. But... The Expendables is not about good acting, it's about old action stars blowing things up, saying one-liners and killing bad guys...

Hmm.. How bout Jacky Chan (all of it), Wesley Snipes (Blade), Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones), and Liam Neeson (Taken & A Team)?
