I wasn't going to bother posting this review up on this site, but I believe people need to be made aware of how good this film is, especially since the critics are bashing it.

Most reviews that I'm reading are completely trashing it and calling it "Twilight for Aliens" or if you mixed Smallville and Twilight together. I find this extremely insulting to the film. "I Am Number Four" has romance, but it is not a romantic film. As a matter of fact, I think the marketing team needs to be shot, because the only commercials I see now are glimpses of romance. The action in this film is some of the best action that you will see in a super hero film and the action started from the very first scene. My mom has no patience for slow films and my dad hates romance and they loved this movie.

"I Am Number Four" is a story following a boy and his life. Twilight follows a girl involved in a supernatural triangle. Smallville is a ten year story about a space alien struggling to realize how cool and useful his super powers are. This film cuts out that nonsense. The romance cuts to the point and Number Four realizes his power and puts it to good use and for good reason. And I did like Twilight and I am a fan of Smallville, so don't get me wrong. I just think it's wrong how people are dismissing this film by comparing it to a romance film that has no comparison and to Superman just because it's about an alien finding a place on earth.

Yes, it does have some generic concepts: "boy meets girl", "being the outcast", "bully picks on new kid", and so on. But it still is a great, well paced action flick.

And I think all the fellahs can appreciate Number Six. I can't think of another female super hero who was as cool as her. I wish I was as cool as her.

It really deserves a fair shot.

they tried to pull in the female crowd a bit too much(theres nothing wrong with that but it slowed the film down a LOT) the book focuses less on the romance and more on him learning and practicing his powers you even get flash backs to his home planet. But they did a decent job it has potential the fight at the end was pretty much a page for page adaption but they did shift a thing or two around and missed out one hell of epic scene that would make number 6 look even more bad ass even though thats pretty impossible. Bascilly read the book

@Exiles I think I will read the book. I'm a little too curious to wait for the films.
