Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige Makes A Surprise Appearance In Jonathan Hickman's X-MEN #21

Could this be a hint of things to come in the MCU? In this week's X-Men #21, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige showed up at the Hellfire Gala and had a very interesting conversation with Cyclops...

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige dropped by to party with the Children of the Atom at the Hellfire Gala in this week's X-Men #21.

In a fun meta moment during the latest chapter in the Gala storyline, Feige approaches Cyclops and asks, "So, what's your story?" Summers proceeds to fill the Marvel head honcho in on the history of the X-Men and how they wound up in their current situation.

While it's best not to read too much into this (multiple celebs have appeared in the pages of Marvel Comics over the years), this meeting could serve as a nod to the X-Men's eventual MCU debut. Fans have been left wondering what Marvel Studios' plans are for the iconic mutant heroes are ever since Disney acquired the rights to the characters in 2019's Fox deal, but a few rumors aside, there's been no solid updates.

X-Men #21 marks Jonathan Hickman's final issue of this series, which picked up where House of X and Powers of X left off. He'll now move on to a new series called Inferno, which is expected to bring fans "revelations from the lives of Moira MacTaggert, Nimrod's revenge, vicious power plays, and more" when it hits shelves this September.

Did you guys pick up this issue? If so, what did you think?

Every mutant at the gala is dressed like rejected 90s costume designs.

@0bstreperous - Both Hickman and Morrison would be interesting choices for the LOSH. They could really do something special with it. One thing is for sure Bendis isn't working maybe they will work.

@0bstreperous - I think Hickman is slightly more comprehensible than Morrison because he doesn’t wait until the very end to start making sense. House of X and Powers of X were both pretty weird but I generally highly recommend the stuff he’s done with the X books.

@kider2 - Hickman on a 3 year LOSH run is my dream. He clearly wants to do it. Morrison would also be cool but I think he’d go a bit too meta for me. I honestly liked Bendis’ series too even though it could’ve been told in like 4 issues.

@OmegaBlack13 - Yes but Morrison has this big knowledge of Silver Age comics. He would really be able to reinvent some of the Classic Legion lore yet still keep it familiar. I would also prefer Hickman over Morrison but Legion also works well when it goes in a different unexpected direction as history has shown.

In some religions visual depictions of prophets isn't allowed. Good to know depictions of the savior of comic book movies is still allowed. Might only be allowed because it is a Marvel sanctioned depiction of him...
Anyway long live Kevin Feige, Genius of Film making.

@Thing94 - Also they all live on an island that can give them whatever raw materials they ask for. And in their society everything appears to be free.
