Very cool pics, i hope not having Silver Surfer in it wont hurt it too much!

I wont mind paying full price for the new JLA animated, but you both got a point, they should be cheaper, they would actually sell more and make more money = everybody wins!!

MULTI: Yeah, thats actually why I tend to avoid buying animated movies! There's been loads of times in the past when I've thought about buying them (on DVD or blu-ray) and then I've noticed that I can get a longer, live action movie for the same price! I cant bring myself to pay £16 for a 60min cartoon when I could get something like The Hurt Locker for the same price! :P

LEE: I agree! :)

Multi- In regards to your message:

"Hey guys, I've received a few emails this week regarding the Comics Tabs issue. Until a decision is made by the administration, let me try to address the issue the best I can:

The likelihood of there being a section on CBM strictly devoted to comic book information is very low. It doesn't really have anything to do with bandwidth or editing time. CBM has a niche audience, that is broadening every day. Our articles are primary focused on relaying comic-themed movie news. Recently there has been an explosion of non-comic related information on the site. The administration is trying very hard to limit this. That doesn't just go for comic book articles, but for sci fi, horror and fantasy related materials as well. The owners of CBM.com have several other websites that focus on those genres, the largest being EarthsMightiest.com. If we, as responsible editors, allow CBM to be overrun by news, editorials, fan fic or other articles that barely pertain to comic movies, we run the high risk of loosing our niche audience. If that happens, we will become like many other run-of-the-mill entertainment websites.

CBM.com has a format unlike the majority of entertainment websites out there. The categories reflect the specific tone of the articles posted within. The comments sections are very user friendly and allow for a broader scope of interaction. The mere ability for users to post articles is a very hard to find feature on similar sites. There have been many suggestions, both good and bad, from users that want format changes for the website. Most of these suggestions are from long time members, and not casual users. If we make changes to the site in an effort to accommodate only the long time users, without keeping casual readers in mind, we could very well loose our place in the industry. If the owners allow for a 'comics only' area on the site, it might appease some members. But what happens when other members start asking for a 'gaming' area; or an 'anime' area? The requests will continue to evolve and the site may become a jumbled mess of random non-comic movie related information. The best assurance I can give to those people who need change is to try and remember what drew them to CBM.com in the first place and have faith that the administration will keep striving to maintain an entertaining forum."

That's a great message and all but the thing is that this is a comic book MOVIE website and everything or mostly everything should have to do with the MOVIE industry. Video games that have to do with super heroes is fine because there is so few that it doesn't crowd the tabs or flush content. But what Sora is constantly putting on here is ridiculous!!! There is WAY too much comic book news that goes on in one day to compete with comic book MOVIE news. I mean, think of the reason why you guys decided to fling all of Sora's comic book articles in the "review section" in the first place. It was because there was too much to leave in the "news" section. But to the CBMers that put hard work in their film reviews, it kinda sucks to see that the section their review is in is basically concidered the web site's "trash can" for dumping the comic book articles. A "comic only" tab would benefit the site in keeping up with the enormous amount of comic book news and won't affect film reviews. I don't think that people would ask for a gaming tab since there is way too few articles about comic book video games to even think of creating a tab for it. And if you need to darw a "line" then why not completely ban any article that isn't somewhat related to the movie industry? If it's not a film review, then it doesn't belong in "reviews". If it's not a film or piece of art featured, then it doesn't belong in "features". If it's not the writer's thoughts, then it's not an editorial. This isn't CBR, it's CBM. So i understand that they don't want to create a "comic only" tab but i don't understand why comic book news is constantly being bombarded in the reviews section. The reviews section is not a trash can IMO. It's easy to tell us that we can put anything unrelated in "Earth's mightiest" but then, why doesn't Sora put her comic book news in Earth's Mightiest???

Josh & LEEE- Yeah, i hate paying full price for animated films that aren't even 90 minutes. And this looks good and all but i prefer Thor-boy. I'm just not that big a fan of Hulk ;)

MULTI: Something like that would make a lot of sense! However, wait long enough and they soon come down in price, lol!

I guess they dont sell all that well in the UK anyway because Amazon.co.uk are selling this movie on DVD for only £7.98! It doesnt look like they're releasing it on blu-ray here though!

Shaman
Shaman - 1/20/2010, 10:58 AM
Well, Sora has his own reasons to put them on CBM which is noble of him but it still doesn't make his articles closely related enough to this site's purpose IMHO. Would it be better for people to no longer bother making film reviews? In that case, why have a review tab at all? Wasn't the purpose of this tab to have people write film reviews? Sora's articles are making people think twice before putting the time and effort in their reviews. I think that's pretty bad. And honestly, regarding comic book news, why can't he make one single article per day? Labelled as "20th of january 2010 comic book news" or something. So he can incorporate every news he finds and copy/pastes in one day and put it in one article. That way it wouldn't flush everyone else's hard work. And before you say it, i have already asked him to do that but he didn't answer or do anything about it.

All i say on the comic book tab is...

If it wasn't for comic books, there wouldn't be comic book movies???!

I really don't think it would hurt at all to have a comic book tab!

It might even attract more followers!!

All the power to SORA!!

Would be nice though if someone else thought about a bit of DC though and INDY stuff! : P

Nice work Poni

Hey Poni - here's something you can appreciate. A buddy of mine is heading to Afghanistan in March. I saw him when he came back for New Year's and he was like "check out what I did with my dog tags" I took a look, and under Religion he had "Jedi". I couldn't fkn believe they printed it, but it was big as life right there on it. Gotta love the Army.

Yes and if it wasn't for paper, we wouldn't have comic books..I demand a paper tab! Ah no I get what your saying Lee, and a comic tab would be cool, but its just not gonna happen right now..nothing we can do. Sora's articles were cool, but he could have easily compiled a few into one as Shaman suggested to save space. When someone id creating 10 articles a day in reviews its unfair for anyone actually posting a film review. You had the same problem in fan fic.

@MPP-care to expand on the last part of that comment or is it top secret at the moment?

What about revamping the EarthsMightiest banner ad so people can go there for comic book news. If I am a casual reader here, I would have no idea to go there.
