Today, Marvel Studios and Lionsgate Home Entertainment provided MTV with their latest trailer for the upcoming animated feature Thor: Tales Of Asgard. The film follows the story of a younger Thor than most audiences are familiar with. He has yet to wield Mjolnir or show his father Odin he is deserving of the respect that comes with his title, the God of Thunder.

Here are few screencaps I snagged showing Thor, Loki, the Warriors Three, Sif, the Valkyries and the Frost Giants:

Seems to have music, dialogue, and animation complete. Why then do we have to wait an entire year?

This is on the Planet Hulk DVD as a special feature. Should be alright.

@Wadey: "better than Next Avengers at least". That movie actually turned out to be a lot better than I expected. I kinda liked that alternate future (cept you'd think Iron Man would have at least one child out there in the world somewhere). It'll definitely be good though. I would like to see how young Thor grows up to become The Mighty Thor.

If that's their reasoning its smart and lame at the same time. I would coincide its release with the first teaser of the live-action film. It'll be a perfect outlet for the enthusiasm for the new movie. But to do the who "Gotham Knight thing' is kind of lame.

It is kind of lame to wait that long Phin, but that seems to be the standard marketing practice now. They did it with Hulk Vs. Wolverine for Wolverine:origins and it looks like they're doing it for Thor.

Looks pretty good. Sort of has a Thor meets Chronicles of Narnia wibe.

um.. i'm just a bit confused on why this comes out in 2011. LOL.. even funnier is why it's even being talked about now, so far from its release date.

I'm not sure how I feel about thor and loki as kids. I'll watch it though. Wadey09 said it when he said "better than Next Avengers at least." Cause that movie sucked.

@Anil: Tony uses condoms? I don't think so. Tony doesn't really strike me as a jim hat kinda guy. If anything he'd have some kinda fancy expensive super-high-tech vasectomy that uses nano-pulsar-extremis technology.
