The Metal Men are a team of robot superheroes created by writer Robert Kanigher, pencilled by Ross Andru and inked by Mike Esposito for DC Comics in 1962. They made their first appearance in Showcase #37-40 as part of a four-issue series created as a last-minute filler feature. They proved unexpectedly popular and the characters were revived for more stories under their own title and had subsequent appearances in various series in the DC Universe.

The official synopsis of episode titled "Clash of the Metal Men":

Batman is introduced to a team of energetic androids known as the Metal Men. When their creator goes missing at the hands of the Gas Gang, Batman helps them track the villains to get him back.

This episode will air Friday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. on Cartoon Network, many thanks to the guys at CBR for the video clip and pics, link below.

LEEE777 - Anyone that's read a Metal Men comic knows how great they are. It's fantastic to see their debut in all their glory in the new Batman cartoon show. I might add it is worth watching on Cartoon Network. Hey one day maybe we'll get a big budget feature film from Warner Bros. fingers crossed.

This show usually gets on my nerves, but I really liked the JSA, Teen Titans and Aquaman Family episodes.I wish they would do more episodes like this instead of the really silly ones.Don't get me started on the Music Meister.

I agree Ironman is horrible, or should I say Ironboy? This shows not bad and my 5 year old loves it and Superhero Squad. It fits his age group, while my older son likes Clone Wars and Wolverine. Funny thing, is that he will recognize characters now in other feature lengths and enjoys them more, which means I get to watch Green Lantern over and over instead of Ratatouille! :)

bropous, I also enjoy Armored Adventures. At first I was apprehensive, but it's grown on me.Currently my favorite animated series is Wolverine and the X-Men.I was all revved up for a new season to start, but apparently they've only finished 8 scripts and haven't even began production, yet.Looks like we won't be seeing season 2 until 2011.

To the people with the hate, some people love comics and have kids. This and SHS are great for the kiddies. My three year old daughter and I watch these and read Power Pack at night. (She loves Katie and Wolverine.)

DownUnderThunder @ Correct man! Gotta luv Superhero Squad though, which i didn;t think i would lol, though to e truthful only seen a handful of them, but they was pretty good, unlike Iron-Boy,,, Big into b&B though, mass appeal works!

BETTY @ Hell yeah!! ; )

Georgia @ Damn right!!

Yeah @ANIL, not a lover of THE BATMAN. it was okay but it only started to get good with the DC cameos, before that it was pretty dry compaired to BATMAN ADVENTURES (classic).

I like most of the Batman B.a.t.B. episodes I've seen, and was really impressed with the newest episode, Sidekicks Assembled. They threw in elements like the Watchtower spacestation and ... wait for it... the fricking HALL OF JUSTICE!!! It looked just like it did in the old Superfriends cartoon. Really awesome. To see the interaction between the children Robin, Speedy and Aqualad, and then their late-teen selves were really great also. Then to top it off, Robin becomes Nightwing at the end. This episode's a keeper for sure!

Iron Man/Boy/Teen ... meh.

Fantastic Four - T.W.G.H ... Would be cool if it were an original series or original episodes. They took episodes aired a few years ago and reworked them and put them out like it was brand new. Didn't particularly appreciate the trick, so .... meh.

more Aquaman! Outrageous! And Starro? And the Metal Men? This is going to be another fun episode of one of my favorite shows. Been a while since there was a show I looked forward to watching as much as I do with Brave and the Bold. The Batmite episode remains my favorite, and is mandatory viewing for anyone who calls himself a Batman fan, imo. There are a lot of great messages in that episode, plus they actually made Batmite entertaining, not that bumbling obmoxious "comedy relief" character he was in New Adventures.

The recent FF show had some good stories, but that animation was so hideously ugly, it was tough to watch.

Iron Boy 90210? Tried it. Even with good villains, I can't stand the faded colors and crappy looking animation. It looks like something drawn by high schoolers with no budget. I'm also not too crazy about "high school" versions of characters that don't have high school in their background. It's fine for Spidey, and even the X-Men (Evolution was a good show that became pure greatness when they got beyond just doing the high school stuff), because they started off in school.

Wolverine and the X-Men is another excellent series which I enjoy almost as much as Brave and Bold. Average character design, but the stories have been well-written and well-paced. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these.

I love this Batman Cartoon!!! I hope they keep cranking out more stories. They've had heroes that I never even heard of before, I dare say that its almost as good as the justice league. (but not quite) Its damn good though.

I am a long time Metal Men fan,so I'm looking forward to seeing them on Batman:The Brave & The Bold.To my knowledge they've never been done in any medium before other than comic books.Like many of you,I have mixed feelings regarding B:TB&TB TV series. It can play silly & camp & I don't care for that style at all.The art designs can be splendid at times such as the depiction of Oa,or lackluster. The scripts vary in quality, but just when I think that the show is only aimed at 10-year olds they'll do some deeper more powerful moments & surprise me.But i do love that the premise of this series is that each week we get to see Bats teamed with a different DC superhero(or heroes). So,I keep coming back for more, especially when some of them such as the MM have never been featured outside of comics previously.
