Warner Bros. Home Entertainment previously released Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 on home video last fall, and Part 2 earlier this year. Both were well received by fans, as they did a fantastic job adapting one of the most iconic graphic novels starring the Caped Crusader. Beginning October 8th, both parts will be available on the Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Deluxe Edition Blu-Ray/DVD/UltraViolet combo pack release. There isn't a complete list of bonus features yet, but WB has confirmed that the key extras from the separate releases of Part 1 and Part 2 will be included. We also have the cover art for your viewing pleasure. Click HERE to pre-order your copy of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Deluxe Edition.

It's only worth it if they combine them onto one disc...

@aRandomSinisterClone--I agree completely about the cover art. I think it's kind of disgusting that this has been marketed as some new thing vaquely connected to the Nolan movies, with complete disregard for the landmark source material and its distinctive style.

Just more generic branding for yet another addition to the Batman product line, basically. Shameful.

I would've thought a special edition would be where you'd see a more faithful representation in the packaging, but I guess they don't want to alienate or confuse the kiddies with a sketchy, "fat" Batman in a plain fabric suit, cuz--y'know--Batman is all shiny and kevlar and gadgets and sh!t. Gotta hit the broadest demographic and maximize sales. Batman is Batman; it's all from the same pile of revenue fuel.

Stick to the brand, right? The hardcore fans will buy it anyway. Twice, even!

They could have at least tried to make the cover art a LITTLE like art style of the film itself or even the comic.

warner knew what they were doing from the start, they milk batman all they can.

the dark knight returns part 1 $2,650,510 (u.s gross sales)

the dark knight returns part 2 $1,467,026 (u.s gross sales)

the dark knight returns deluxe edition (just squeezing the last drops of milk out of their cash cow)

Part 1: kinda of like it. Part 2: didn't like it that much. Not the movie's fault, whole story ark just never been my favorites. That cover arts for each dvd/blu ray (especially the one above)have been insane.

Read that they are adding some exclusive things to this version so I might consider buying this if it is indeed both parts edited into one film and after trading/selling the ones I already own.
