DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD Drops Its First Trailer, Teases A Whole Lot Of Exploring

Ever since the Dora the Explorer adaptation was announced, it was met with a lot of skeptism. In the beginning, some reported that Michael Bay was involved with the movie but those rumores proved to be false. With Neighbors director Nicholas Stoller writing the screenplay, the project was becoming more and more intriguing.

Fast forward to 2019's Kids Choice Awards, with Dora and the Lost City of Gold dropping its first trailer. The footage itself is certainly exciting, embracing an Indiana Jones for kids vibe - but will the finished product deliver?

Check out the trailer below.

I have the horrible, horrible feeling someone is going to jail for watching this movie, or rather, doing something while watching it.

I don't really get the angle for this. is this supposed to be a grown-up version of Dora because the audience that watched it as kid now grew up and may be nostalgic for it? if so, that's really dumb. even if you have some kind of nostalgia for the old Nick Jr stuff, the point of it was being accesible to young children, it was edu-tainment a lot of times. no one is going to watch the grown up version of that. it's like going a grown up version of Barney the dinosaur. at least stuff like Power Rangers or Ninja turtles lend themselves to more depth or at least have action.
