In just 15 days, another 11 episode batch of Voltron: Legendary Defender will be uploaded to Netflix. Like so many others, were you pleasantly surprised by season one? The latest trailer is teasing that the Paladin leader Shiro is going to meet the same fate as his '80s counterpart, Sven.  Do you think that'll actually happen or are we purposely being misled?  If season 1 is any indication, the showrunners love to subvert any fan expectations derived from knowledge of the original show.

Head over to our sister site, Anime Mojo to watch the new trailer.

Voltron: Legendary Defender season 2 premieres on January 20.

Team Voltron has been scattered throughout the universe in the aftermath of a perilous battle with Zarkon, Haggar and the evil Galra Empire. Working to bring the lions back together to form Voltron again, the Paladins' plan to defeat the Galra once and for all takes them across the universe in search of new worlds and unexpected allies. Find out if their plot to take down Zarkon succeeds when Season 2 of DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender premieres on Netflix January 20, 2017.

Guillermo del Toro should be making a movie about this.

Original show jumped the shark when that princess replaced Sven.

This is easily the best US produced show right now. It has great animation, characters and writing. You can definitely see the Avatar: The Last Airbender influences.

@MrDandy - Give Trollhunters a shot if you enjoy this version of Voltron. Episode 8 is where it really starts to become something special! I can't stop watching (if I weren't at work I would be right now)! The characters and writing are also quite fantastic.

@CryinFist - I thought Trollhunters was a movie. I might have to check it out. Thanks! I'm a big animation fan.

@MrDandy - It was originally supposed to be but Guillermo Del Toro and Dreamworks decided to do a series instead and it was all the better for it. I've grown to care for almost every character and I'm only on episode 13.
