When it was first announced, the entire concept of a Detective Pikachu movie was ridiculed by Pokemon fans. Understandably, they wanted to see the likes of Ash, Misty, and Brock brought to a live-action setting, but as soon as the first trailer landed, the excitement for the Ryan Reynolds led release amped up considerably and box office projections are high.

As you might expect, Detective Pikachu has been pegged to be a massive hit in China and a series of posters have now been released which put the spotlight on the titular character along with Psyduck, Bulbasaur, Charizard, Jigglypuff, and Mr. Mime.

It's nothing short of incredible seeing these Pokemon brought to life in live-action, and Legendary Pictures has done a mind-blowing job of introducing the iconic video game creatures to a  real-world setting. You have to believe that merchandise sales will be massive for this one, and that bodes well for the chances of a sequel, not to mention various other spinoffs.

To check out these new posters, all you guys have to do is hit the "View List" button down below!

I love how unapologetically faithful they’ve been to the Pokemon designs.

I don’t really understand the hype behind this (and this is coming from someone who was a diehard Pokémon fan as a kid).

The CGI just looks... strange. Some look very realistic while others look like super smooth cartoons just floating in the environment. It’s very jarring.

The Pokemon in this have no business looking as good as they do. I still can't believe we're getting a live action Pokemon film.

The Pokemon look like they are made out of velvet.

Apparently, John Campea has seen a full 5 mins scene from the movie at Cinema Con and he didn't like it. And he was blown away by trailers. Hopefully he's wrong and/or that scene is one of the rare bad scenes in the film.
