"Well, It's all just kind of starting, so it's really cool," Paul Rudd told Flicks And The City about playing Scott Lang in Marvel's Ant-Man. "I'm very excited about it. I read some comics and seen some [Marvel] movies and I knew Edgar Wright for many years. The whole thing that it's actually happened, that I got the part is still kind of surreal. It's still sinking in over these last several months," the comedian-actor added, indicating that he was certainly fibbing when he told reporters last month that his involvement was but a rumor. Moving along, when asked how much comedy will he bring to the titular role, Rudd insisted, "We'll see what Edgar has in mind. We haven't started shooting any of it yet." As for his Ant-Man co-star, Michael Dougles, who's playing Hank Pym, Rudd kept it short and sweet: "It's a thrill, He's amazing! Lastly, Flicks And The City slyly asked Rudd how psyched he is to be working again with Rashida Jones, who's rumored to nab the lead female role in Ant-Man. "I follow what comes out online and even then I don't quite follow," he replied with a big grin. "I let those powers at be announce what they want to announce when they announce it. A lot of that stuff you hear is not true." What do you think?

Anyhow, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd & Michael Douglas, with Michael Pena & Clifton Collins Jr. rumored for roles. Directed by Edgar Wright from his screenplay, which he co-wrote with Joe Cornish, the film is scheduled for a May shoot in and around Georgia, and releases July 17, 2015.

batz-that is such an interesting pair, if done well, that can be great

i like Paul Rudd and i can definitely see him as Scott Lang, also for people who say" who cares about scott lang" apparently alot of people who are comic book fans are excited for this, while i can understand peoples dissapointment of it not being hank pym but this is the MCU,its its own universe like xmen films are foxs universe or the nolan films are its own universe aslong as they make hank a good, interesting character and scott aswhile,i wont mind at all

he says its surreal that he got this part which made me think that they might have screentested him or auditioned him as they did with downey back when the first one was coming out, favreau had seen kiss kiss bang bang(a shane black film) and thought downey would be a great tony stark but marvel studios wasnt sure so they screentested him and well, the rest is history

@omega lmfaoooooo well can we take it to the bank with Rashida?

i have a feeling we are gonna see young hank pym and janet(played by rashida ) in the sixties, something happens to janet in the 60s, hank is broken man and gives up being ant man, this all sounds very mask of zorro ish which is fine by me cause i love that movie, also edgar wright seems to be going for the tone for the early 60s hank pym" tales to astonish" story in which it was light, the banter between hank and janet was fun and hank pym in those stories was a cold war spy/adventurer,this was wayyy before the emotional baggage came in,i think wright wants to have fun with the concept and i can definitely see ant man spowers as being fun on screen if the test footage was anything to go by

I say get Alan Tudyk for a young Hank Pym, he resembles Douglas somewhat.

How much will Douglas get for this movie? Just curious...

@NPa What did he say? Except for the fact that he'd love to do a stand alone Hulk movie?? And that they had better lunch at a big budget movie and not in an independent one?? And Avengers had more crew and equipment than Infinity Polar Bear?? Wow, I'd never have guessed!

I'm super happy Paul Rudd's gonna join the Marvel universe. He's great. I'd love to see Rashida Jones play Wasp, if that would make sense. As far as the wikipedia article on Scott Lang is concerned, there isn't really much relationship between Lang and Wasp, except for vicariously through Hank Pym, sort of. Maybe they'll change that for the movies, which would be perfectly fine.
I wonder if they'll announce Rashida Jones' casting shortly after she leaves Parks and Recreation tomorrow night.

If Rashida is in the movie, she won't be playing Wasp. She'll play the mother of Cassandra Lang.
