Principal Photography is set to begin in Bard, Aosta Valley later today at around 4:00 pm. The shoot will include "intense battle scenes" within the fortress. Gunfire is to be added through special effects. Cast members that have reportedly arrived on location include Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, both who have been announced to be joining the cast as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. The site says Scarlett Johansson could be present at some point, while the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson arriving is unlikely.

The site reports that around 400 extras will be included and the shoot will continue throughout the weekend. The city has alerted that during the day there will be "detonations and/or seizure of a firearm" but ensured "the absolute absence of risk and danger".

The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson with Paul Bettany and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.
