AVENGERS Star Paul Bettany Reckons Jason Statham Should Get Himself An "Acting Double"
Remember those "anybody can do it" comments Jason Statham made about Marvel's approach to action and stunts? Well the ever-awesome Paul Bettany (Vision) has responded during a guest spot on the Conan O'Brien show in the best way possible - hilariously...
Back in June, Jason Statham - who was said to be in the running to play Bullseye on season 2 of Daredevil at the time - riled up a lot of Marvel fans with his comments during a video interview. The Crank 2 actor said he "could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and then put her in a greenscreen, and then have stunt doubles come in and do all the action. Anybody can do it."
Old-school action movie fans can probably identify somewhat with the point Statham was making, and so does Paul Bettany - but he couldn't help taking a little jab of his own when appearing on the Conan O'Brien show.
"He's brilliant at what he does - I couldn't do it. I try to do as many of the stunts as I can, but there are times when it's too dangerous or it's too tricky. But if there's a really, really tricky scene with some very tricky dialogue, one might consider bringing in an acting double for Jason Statham."
