Avengers: Endgame has remained unparalleled as one of the most emotional blockbusters ever put on fiilm, and with that, director Joe Russo has revealed the scene that garners an reaction from him the most, one that fans would generally not expect.

Even though he did not make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, the opening scene for Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye in Endgame always struck a chord for co-director Joe Russo. Speaking to Empire, the director addressed the opinion by saying:

I've got four kids, and it's a very tragic scene to open the movie with. It's one of the few scenes in the movie that actually makes me tear up when I watch it, because I think about my own family . . . And then you think about what would happen to you, as a father. You'd become very self-destructive.

The film's prologue was one that drove Hawkeye mad, making it understandable why he would turn into Ronin for the remainder of the film.

What scenes almost made you tear up?

I've actually heard a few people who got teary eyes from this scene I know. Also off topic just finsihed season 5 ep 1 of Black Mirror. Fun question: Would you consider what was happening in the ep cheating??

@Kurne - I'm on the fence about this one lol. Also trying to think if its gay. I can see two arguments.

@MrCamw1 - in all seriousness, the whole mechanics of the game (in that world) are very confusing. Supposedly you really do take up all the sensations of a female body, or male body if you're a female gamer.

From what the episode layed out, it all feels physical in that world you're playing in. So to some extent... taking advantage of your desires while there could be seen as cheating? But then it could just as easily be argued its all mental/in your head.

Hard to argue either way. But that's always the point of Black Mirror.

@Kurne - agreed. It's like a glitched USS Calkister in that they found loopholes in the system that everyones taken advantage of.

Reminded me a lot of Nora Durst seeing her family disappear in The Leftovers

How is this scene not an obvious one? The scene even includes his daughter...

Idk, just think the title is clickbait.

Hawkeye was awesome in this movie, just wish we saw him interact with more characters like Rocket or something

"What scenes almost made you tear up?"

Almost? Are you kidding? I could give you three guaranteed tear-jerks no problem.

I don't know what it was about this movie that I wasn't really emotional while watching it at all. Infinity war was such an emotional roller-coaster for me and I don't think it can ever be duplicated.

For me, the 4th time we had seen the snap happening in a year was just overkill. I'd really rather have seen captain Marvel's arrival conversation or minutes after infinity war ended as everyone was picking themselves up

Everything with Clint was so good. "Don't give me hope" might be my favourite but there's also the phone call he gets, Vormir, his yelling St Thor and the family reunion.

Natasha's death almost made me tear up, but the entire stretch from Tony's death to his funeral and Morgana saying she wanted a cheeseburger just made me lose it. I've seen those scenes three times in the theatre and I still cry.

@DnA - Cap finally getting his dance with Peggy always hits me the hardest. It's so perfectly identical to the ending of The First Avenger, but flipped around. It's still bittersweet, but this time Steve finally gets what he wants the most after fighting the war (and losing a close friend(s) in the process).
