AVENGERS: ENDGAME Star Tessa Thompson Responds To Fans Shipping Captain Marvel And Valkyrie

As you may have heard, there's a lot of support online for Captain Marvel and Valkyrie to start hooking up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but what does Tessa Thompson make of that? Find out more here...

Captain Marvel didn't feature a love interest for Carol Danvers, and that's led to fans coming up with a long list of ideas for heroes she could hook up with in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. Thor is one name that frequently pops up (especially after that Avengers: Endgame trailer) but Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie is arguably an even more popular suggestion.

Recently, Brie Larson shared a piece of fan-art on Twitter showing the two heroes together and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Now, a romance between them is being shipped. Hard.

During a recent interview, Thompson was asked about a possible romance between the two characters. "That's wild!" she said with a laugh. "It didn't even occur to me, legitimately, that it was necessarily a romantic thing. I don't even know what happens in the canon in terms of those characters or if they ever intersect, but I just love the idea of more women Marvel characters getting to intersect. I just think it's so cool and it's time and why not? There's so many compelling female characters inside of the MCU."

"And just selfishly, when I get to see those women in passing, they're all such cool women," the actress continued. "So the idea of getting to spend time with them and hang out is so fun. I'm just excited that this new phase promises to have women and queer folks." Ultimately, though, Thompson thinks Carol and Maria Rambeau would make a better pairing.

"I kind of ship them, but I would like to have a drink with them," she said. "I also have seen some other people shipping Thor and Captain Marvel which, when they see each other, that's kind of steamy. [But] I don't think I ship any two characters. I'm just for everybody."

Do you think Captain Marvel and Valkyrie would make for a good couple in the MCU?
