AVENGERS: ENDGAME Title Has Been In Place Since Before The Movie Even Began Production

Despite reports that Marvel Studios was mulling over a number of titles, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now revealed how long it's been in place and the meaning of that line from Doctor Strange.

During the build-up to the release of the first teaser trailer for Avengers: Endgame, we heard that Marvel Studios was mulling over a number of titles, including Avengers: Annihilation. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now revealed that it was always the plan to call the Avengers: Infinity War sequel Avengers: Endgame

"It was in place before we started developing the movie or just as we were developing it, yes," Feige revealed on the red carpet of last night's Golden Globes. "So, Doctor Strange says that line because we knew it was the title."

As suspected, the title was indeed said in Infinity War, and it's going to be very interesting to see how Endgame ties into Strange's words and whether theories that the one future he saw where Earth's Mightiest Heroes would defeat Thanos included his demise and eventual resurrection.

It's a little frustrating to think that we spent all those months speculating about the title and hearing rumours about what it could be when Marvel knew all along, but these things happen!

What do you guys think of these remarks? As always, share your thoughts in the usual place.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - reminds me of right before Thanos teleported onto Earth. The calm eerie feeling

@Vigor - Indeed, that feeling was so amazing.

@LongMayHeReign - the Russos did an amazing job with atmosphere in this film. From opening the film with the Asgardian distress signal, to Thanos arriving in Wakanda to the ominous credits and black screen, just outstanding.

Ofcourse it was. They might have taken it from Stark's line in Age of Ultron. Still, pretty fitting title if you ask me

Everyone forgets they said the title in Age of Ultron "That up there, that's the endgame."

@Gigacrusher45 - some of us knew that... 😎

@Gigacrusher45 - Yes, I probably should have been bringing that up back when the title wasn't known yet, but that was a thought that kept hitting me every time I started doubting that it would be Endgame.

Avengers Forever still would’ve been my number one choice. But whatever. Me want movie.

@KWilly - Reminds me too much of the Batman film. I know that was a lifetime ago but... it still does lol

@KWilly @Vigor

I still prefer my original choice: Avengers: Electric Boogaloo.

I never get what I want. :(

My feelings toward this title are so weird. I like the way it looks, not the way it sounds.

I would have said something snarky like "sums up most of my relationships", but I've barely had any.

Pretty sure the Russo bros already said this stuff. Must be a slow news day.

Feige like "Its the end of the path I started us on"...

I wanted the title to be endgame and also stated my prediction that it would be even when other articles were throwing around other titles that they said were more likely. It's the most solid title they could have chosen imo.
