Kevin Feige Has Dubbed The First Wave Of Marvel Studios Movies "THE INFINITY SAGA"

Well, I guess we now know what the eventual Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 1, 2, and 3 box set will be called when it's inevitably released: The Infinity Saga. That's the name Empire Magazine reveals Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has dubbed the first wave of Marvel movies that will culminate with Avengers: Endgame next month.

While there may have been no sign of Thanos in 2008's Iron Man, the Infinity Stones were first introduced in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and the Mad Titan made his big screen debut the following year in The Avengers

"We wanted to bring to a conclusion a series of movies in a way that had never been done before," Feige explains in the latest issue of Empire Magazine. "Harry Potter had an ending because there were only so many books. Lord of the Rings too. But we thought, 22 movies in, wouldn't it be fun to bring some finality to the storyline?"

The Infinity Saga certainly seems like a fitting title for these movies and with the X-Men and Fantastic Four on the way to the MCU, it's hard not to wonder what the next wave will be called.

Regardless, the saga comes to an end with Avengers: Endgame and many fans are expecting to say goodbye to characters like Captain America and Iron Man as a result. What are your thoughts on this moniker? Let us know in the comments section below.

@TheAccuser - It will make a nice blu-ray box set.

@JonC - If I did bu y an "Infinity Saga" box set, I'd pull out Iron Man 3, take out the disc, throw the box away, and use it as a coaster.

Man like the movie series mentioned above, I'll sure feel all sorts of emotions by the time Avengers: Endgame ends. I literally got out of the hospital just to see Iron Man back in 2008 and ever since then I've been committed to the MCU, which isn't an easy feat for a Marvel fan such as myself. And I'll be happy to see how the universe takes shape in the future.

@FusionWarrior - I like that they are bringing closure to the main story. Very interested in seeing where they go from here. I am sure that they will stick with the ultimate universe as inspiration. With the Fox merger, I am hoping for X-Men, Fantastic Four, and a more important role for Daredevil and the Punisher at least.

I don't know if I'll be able to maintain interest in the franchise after this.
It seems like a beautiful epilogue to that time of my life were I had zero responsibilities and problems.
I have to move on, like the MCU will after whatever happens in "Endgame".
All journeys come to an end.
Bring it!

@OuzoPowerMan - movies take up two hours of your day. It's not like you're giving up video games which can consume your time lol

@Vigor - What I meant was, I won't watch the newest movies with the same enthusiasm as I used to. Perhaps I'll even skip some of them, if they don't attract my interest (e.g. I wouldn't be watching Captain Marvel or Antman & The Wasp, had it not been for Endgame).

@OuzoPowerMan -that makes more sense. If the movies didn't connect, I'm not sure I'd be as into the universe as I am

Supreme Emperor Feige has made the Earth’s people care more about the fate of these ‘Endgame’ characters than any other storyteller of any other franchise. Including Star Wars.
