In the limited amount of marketing we've had so far for
Avengers: Infinity War, we've yet to see anything official regarding Jeremy Renner's fan-favorite character Hawkeye. While there's probably good reason for that (probably to avoid some major spoiler or twist), it's still hard not to feel bad for the guy, who almost always seems to be overshadowed by the rest of the Avengers.
The most recent example of Hawkeye getting the shaft was with
Entertainment Weekly's 15 different Infinity War covers, featuring 23 characters from the film. Hawkeye, of course, was absent from the series of covers and fans definitely took notice. Taking matters into their own hands, Hawkeye's dedicated fanbase created their own version of EW's cover featuring the character front-and-center. Renner took notice of the impressive fan art and shared it with his followers on Instagram, which you can see below.
Despite not appearing in any official marketing for
Avengers: Infinity War yet, Renner has
been active on social media and his appearance (which has also
been leaked via set photos) has dropped clues as to why Marvel is keeping his character a secret.
For his part, Renner has
talked up his character, promising that
"everyone will be very pleased when they find out what happens" to Hawkeye in the movie. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27 to find out.
And just in case you forgot, he's got powers too and they're pretty sweet.
