Looking back over the past decade or so of Marvel Studios movies, it's easy to see which ones have set up the events of Avengers: Infinity War. It started with Thanos' introduction in The Avengers and continued into any release which made mention of the Infinity Stones. Thor: Ragnarok is the next release to lay the groundwork for Earth's Mightiest Heroes' battle against Thanos but Joe Russo has revealed in a new interview that every Marvel movie actually sets up the events of this adventure.

How? Well, it all boils down to the fact that Avengers: Infinity War will feature pretty much every single character who has ever appeared in the MCU as they come together to confront the Mad Titan.

"Everything is setting up Infinity War. Every narrative that you have seen in any of the Marvel movies leading up to this point comes to bear in some way because all of the characters and all of the franchises are coming together, bringing their themes and their tone and the things that motivate the characters are driving them through this story. It has been the hardest part of the job for us, is melding all of that together, But thankfully, we got Markus and McFeely working with us. They are incredible collaborators. They wrote WInter Soldier for us, and Civil War. Now they’re writing both Avengers movies. I feel like we’ve got a great Vulcan mind meld between the two of them, and me and my brother."

It sounds like everyone involved with Avengers: Infinity War knows exactly what they need to do in order to make this movie succeed and it's definitely going to be interesting seeing how all these characters and their very different worlds come together in this highly anticipated 2018 release.

Joss Whedon made it work back in 2012 and this movie's creative team have already proved themselves (Captain America: Civil War was pretty much an Avengers movie after all). What do you guys think? As always, be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section down below.

The MCU needs to acknowledge The Incredible Hulk more.

i'll say this ... more drunk fun in a vein of Avengers one and not sober Civil War please.

@jerryblake - and I say the opposite!

Except I wouldn't exactly call civil war a sober experience for me.

@ALostCause - watched it twice. it was rather sober for me. the airport scene is kinda fun but everything around it ... i think this whole political climax took a fun out the movie. plus the plot started to roll in like an hour after the movie started.

@jerryblake - but it didn't have a political climax, that's my number 1 problem with the movie. it was all about [frick]ing friendship, when they should have been arguing about whether or not they should have accountability.

I think it would have been great if they got so angry about their side of the argument that they came to blows, instead of the cop-out "he killed my mom" approach. I think they didn't want either of their popular heroes to seem wrong, which is annoying.

@ALostCause - @ALostCause - Nope. Imo making it a personal deal to go after each others life makes sense. It would be retarded af for a team that has been through so much together and saved the world numerous times to try and kill eachother over diff political views. It was also stupid in the comics.

@XelCorp - have you ever seen people argue about politics?
