The Russo Brothers Put To Rest Theories That Alternate Realities Are In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Or AVENGERS 4

For a while now fans have speculated about the possibility of alternate realities appearing in Avengers: Infinity War or its follow up, and now the Russo Brothers have seemingly put those theories to rest.

Ever since some intriguing photos from Avengers 4 found their way online, seemingly showing past events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have speculated about what they meant for Avengers 4 and even Avengers: Infinity War.

Among the more popular theories, are those that arugue we may see the Avengers embark on a journey through time or that we are seeing alternate realities. Now, in a recent interview, the Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have ruled out the possibility of alternate realities.

“There’s no ‘What If’ scenarios. Everything that happens in these movies, happens in these movies. There’s not like, you know, some potential, a tangential reality,” Joe Russo explained before saying they wanted to avoid any sort of cop-out. “We wanted to commit to the storytelling and the most complete way and not give ourselves any kind of, you know, potential, uh, outs, like, uh, it was all a reality dreams.”

Following this statement, Anthony Russo chimed in echoing his brother’s comments by saying they “wanted to honor” and “commit to” the stakes of the two Avengers films.

In all, while these comments from the directing duo don’t rule out all the fan theories for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, they seem to conclusively say we shouldn't expect to see the Marvel multiverse explored in the next two Avengers films. Also, their comments about preserving the stakes in the two movies should make those who haven’t been completely satisfied with the stakes in the MCU happy.

A spoiler I read is very very heartbreaking to us as fans and we deserve to witness this is theaters. So please as a fellow Comicbook fan. Stay away from CBM and any social platform that has spoilers.

I really do wonder when we are going to dive right into the Multiverse Kevin Feige hyped way back in Doctor Strange. He said that after his movie it'd stopped being the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it'd be the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse. But then we only got a brief taste of the Multiverse and now they are saying that Ant-Man and The Wasp will be the one to introduce it, even though the main goal is to go to the Quantum Realm/into the Microverse and rescue Janet Van Dyne.

DC TV has actually beat them in those what ifs scenarios and settings. And they are not stopping.

I really think these guys are misleading otherwise,why would they shoot new sequences of past events. I think the time stone or why not B.A.R.F. tech with wakanda tech combined will allow some sort of time travelling. Just a wild guess,can't wait 'til friday

Avoid twitter unless you want spoilers.

As for quality, it will be divisive if the leaks on twitter and other sources are accurate. I expect quite a lot of debate about it in the months to come.

@Cdraven23 -
It's very unlikely to flop. I can see the film doing incredibly well in both a critical sense and in terms of earnings.

I can however easily see it being divisive and subject of much conversation when we can finally discuss spoilers.

Don't need alternate X-Men like realities to make this work. They're going the old school route.

You know that Cap costume, while it seems to be fairly disliked amongst fans, it’s sure had the most appearances.
