AVENGERS: SECRET WARS - More Details Emerge About Possible Plans For Doctor Doom In Multiverse Saga Finale

With rumours swirling Doctor Doom will replace Kang the Conqueror as the Multiverse Saga's new big bad, this rumour suggests the Latverian dictator will be one of many villains in Avengers: Secret Wars...

Avengers: Secret Wars will conclude the Multiverse Saga in the same manner Avengers: Endgame wrapped up the Infinity Saga. As a result, fans are expecting the biggest MCU movie ever made, with returning fan favourites - including Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man based on recent rumours - joined by the current crop of new superheroes.

As exciting as it is to imagine the likes of Shang-Chi, Shuri, and Ms. Marvel fighting alongside members of the X-Men and Fantastic Four, we still don't know for sure what Marvel Studios has planned for either this movie or The Kang Dynasty

The titles provide some clues, of course, with The Beyonder rumoured to be Secret Wars' big bad. Previously, it's been reported that he'll be another Kang Variant, but with Jonathan Majors' ongoing legal issues and an apparent lack of interest in the villain, there have been rumblings lately about shifting focus to Doctor Doom.

It makes sense seeing as there's a Fantastic Four reboot on the horizon, and insider Jeff Sneider recently shared some insights which suggest Doom will simply be one of several villains set to appear in the Multiverse Saga's final Avengers movie.

"I still believe that Doctor Doom will be introduced in the post-credits sequence of Fantastic Four," he explains. "[The strike] could affect that potentially. That movie is due two years before Secret Wars and it just seems like if you're going to introduce him in 2025...maybe that's where the semantics thing is...he's not the villain, he's a villain."

"There are multiple villains in Secret Wars," Sneider adds. "It's inaccurate to say he's THE villain."

In 2015's Secret Wars, Doom stole the powers of The Beyonders and created his own "Battleworld" when the Marvel and Ultimate Universes were destroyed after colliding in an incursion.

Using Molecule Man's powers (a character many fans believe Loki will be subbed in for), the villain ruled as "Emperor Doom" for years before his fake reality came crashing down around him and a new world was created in its place...which is how Marvel Studios is expected to reboot the MCU.

Introducing Doom as a threat to the entire Multiverse would be an unexpected and intriguing move on Marvel Studios' part, with it likely setting the stage for him to then target the Fantastic Four in an eventual sequel to the 2025 reboot.

Do you think Doom should be one of Avengers: Secret Wars' villains?

So they could recast Hulk, Rhodey and General Ross but not Kang ?!

@ScottPilgrim29 - I think the problem just goes hand in hand with the approach they took. People just aren't interested in Kang.

Honestly mcu is at the stage of just trying to salvage its reputation.

I think it's good having doom be a villain as opposed to the villain, but that still leaves a Majors problem to deal with.

Fanbase is dwindling. Antman 3 should've been the movie getting us hyped for the next avengers, but was a laughing stock that somehow made less than antman 2. Daredevil had to start from scratch. The marvels and echo are pulling a black Adam and revealing sh!t just willy nilly before release just to get people into the seats. Beyond that all we got to look forward to is Deadpool 3, a franchise we only care about because of the fox movies, and spiderman 4, which we don't even know when that's coming out.

Best course of action is rebooting after secret wars and hopefully get that magic back.

It’s too late to swap out Kang for Doom. They already established the council of Kangs. For them to not show up all of sudden makes no sense.

I stopped caring about the DCEU after Josstice League.

I stopped caring about the Arrowverse after Crisis ended Arrow.

I stopped caring about Disney Star Wars after The Last Jedi.

I stopped caring about the MCU after Endgame.

Nothing lasts forever. All things, good or bad, must end.

Ive made peace with not caring if these once beloved franchises have a hit or predictably bomb.

My good will is gone. Im mostly indifferent. Now when Disney announces another woke race swapped movie, im no longer disappointed or upset or even humorous. At this point, Im genuinely in a passive coma when it comes to announcements. I just dont care anymore.

It would seem ive woken up...

@Miamiheat - Right? "As exciting as it is to imagine the likes of Shang-Chi, Shuri, and Ms. Marvel fighting alongside members of the X-Men and Fantastic Four" Seriously, does that actually get anyone excited? Only that last part with the thought of the Xmen and FF fighting alongside each other sounds exciting, but could care less about the other three characters mentioned.

@Miamiheat - Now that Ms.Marvel is a mutant

I have a feeling she'll have the Kitty Pryde joining the X-Men role in the movie.

Many people are of the mind "Comics suck these days, and cant shine a light to the comics made back in my day!"

I worry the same will be said moving forward about the Comic Book Movie genre.

"The comic book movies today suck, nothing like the MCU and The Dark Knight from back in my day!"
