One of the most surprising moments in Thor: Ragnarok came when the God of Thunder's eye is sliced out by Hela. In a bid to keep that twist a secret, Marvel has shown the hero with both eyes both in Avengers: Infinity War promo art and the trailer shown at Comic-Con but does that actually mean we should expect to see him somehow ditch the eyepatch to go back to his classic appearance? After all, there's a lot of technology in space which could potentially heal Thor and restore his good looks!
Well, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi has now made it clear that Thor will be keeping his eyepatch moving forward and went on to shed some light on how exactly it ended up happening in the movie.
"That kind of just evolved just throughout the script process, to just keep stripping that character down, having him lose the hammer and all those things and to kind of create a broken version of the character. At the end, he sort of becomes a refugee." Chances are that when the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War is released, we'll see Thor rocking the eyepatch and there's no denying that it makes him look pretty badass. It also gives the God of Thunder a lasting scar from his latest movie.
