Mark Ruffalo Is Hoping For A HULK vs. WOLVERINE Team-Up When The X-MEN Arrive In The MCU

Thanks to the Disney/Fox merger, the X-Men and Fantastic Four are on their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and now Mark Ruffalo has revealed why he wants to one day see The Hulk take on Wolverine...

Bruce Banner was unable to Hulk out in Avengers: Infinity War but that looks set to change in the sequel and it's a good job too seeing as the X-Men and Fantastic Four are on their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, the Jade Giant has been known to clash with both The Thing and Wolverine, and the latter is one character Mark Ruffalo cannot wait to cross paths with down the line.

Asked during a recent interview about future Thor: Ragnarok style team-ups, he said: "Well, of course, there’s always the Banner-Black Widow combo, which I think is always a good combination. It’d be cool to see — I mean, people talk a lot about Wolverine and Hulk hooking up, I think that would be a really great combo." There's no denying that would be amazing and definitely a fight for the ages!

"And I love Hugh [Jackman], and it would be cool to do something with him, if he’s up to doing it," Ruffalo added. "He’s always teased Hulk versus Wolverine would be pretty fun." It was actually back in 2014 that Jackman first said he would like to cross paths with The Hulk but he's since retired from playing Wolverine after starring in Logan. Here's hoping Kevin Feige can convince him to return!

@LORDbuckethead - I have issue 160-180, then issue 182-190. Apparently my father "lost" these copies while moving. I think he has them somewhere hiding from me lol.

@Nebula - dude, with time tweaking and alternate realities... all can be made good... even the Foxverse and Sonyverse can be rectified in the hands of Marvel making all the old gobbledygook right.

Jackman isn't coming back to the role, people should accept it. Even if he wanted, he's not getting any younger.

@jj2112 - Yeah, he finished it. They would have to recast Wolverine, actually with a SHORT guy this time.

Loved Hugh's Wolverine, but i think for the MCU it's better to get away from the whole Fox series.

Hugh Jackman as D-Man, Feige... please... just find a way.

Also loving how Ruffalo doesn't sound like he's done with Hulk at all. The dude's got one more contracted picture post-Avengers 4, but I'd love for him to keep coming back.

@Spock0Clock - I'm with you there, brutha. Mark Ruffalo is KILLING IT with Bruce Banner and Hulk.

And I think Hulk is gonna be the SHOW STOPPER in Avengers IV. Ruffalo is gonna KILL it. It's gonna be HULK UNLEASHED.

Hulk in weapon X part 2! department H could send wolverine on a mission and it can adapt wolverines first appearance in his suit.

Set it in the early 2000s right before wolverine meets prof X, with weapon X taking place in the early 90s or maybe the 80s paying homage to when the comics came out.

We could be introduced to sabertooth, Deadpool, omega red, and the darker side of the mutants.

Weapon X 2 could end with a mid credits scene of logan in his cowboy hat walking out of a room in department H after his encounter with the hulk and prof X is there and asks him to join the xmen.

Then a title a card for Uncanny Xmen :night of the sentinels, which would take place after this next marvel phase, and it could adapt the animated series introduction, with the yellow suits and everything. Wolverine fighting gambit in the danger room, mutants being exposed to the public, prof X can easily manipulate history and cover for major mutant occurrences and other events can mistake them as normal super humans.

Even in new avengers, the can finally recruit wolverine and it can show a flash back of cap meeting wolverine in WW2, but he mistook him for a canadaian soldier, who had something special about him, but cap didn't know what it was. and you could see a revelation where he realizes mutants have been there all along, like spidey.

Then we could get a team, with dr strange, wolverine, spiderman, luke cage, daredevil, thor, among others.

Uncanny Xmen could lead to stories that adapt all the major storylines in the last 18 years.

Uncanny Xforce, apocalypse, uncanny avengers.

If they do it right, it could surpass any marvel film currently out.

The future isn't captain marvel, the future is the xmen. We all know what happens to captain marvel at the hands of rogue, fingers crossed that's how she gets her powers.

Marvel, do some real [frick]in stories.

And please comic gods, no to hugh jackman. I actually think if taron Egerton or kit harigton would be awesome in the role. If Taron dyed his hair, grew it out, and put on some muscle would be a great wolverine that can age with the role, any actor would have to transform into the character, maybe someone like christian kane could play him without much transformation, He would have to get as big as thor, but it should be someone new, who embodies the version of the character we see in the comics, someone who looks like glenn danzig.

Would love to see Jackman back as Wolverine suited-up rather than muscle-ripped. Maybe he can be convinced...
Mind, he'd make a bloody good Count Nefaria!
