Mark Ruffalo Updates On The Avengers, Teases "HULK SMASH"

Ruffalo offers some updates on how The Avengers shoot is going. He doesn't reveal anything outright, but praises Joss Whedon's direction and hints that he will say the Hulk's famous catchphrase in the movie..

Mark Ruffalo has always been one of the most forthcoming with info out of the Avengers cast and crew. Now, while he doesn't exactly reveal anything, he has taken to Twitter to tease some Hulk related updates..



Avengers is going really well. We are having fun. Its going to kick ass.

Joss W[hedon] Rocks that shibby. I am very impressed by him and his direction.

I'm not going to say that I'm going to say "HULK, SMASH" but I'm not going to say that I'm not going to say "HULK, SMASH" either.


Ok, can we assume that he will be saying Hulk Smash then? You never know. Ruffalo has revealed previously that The Hulk will definitely have at least one lien of dialog. Now the safe bet would be that it would be his most famous catchphrase, but this being Joss Whedon, all safe bets are off! Anyway, nice to hear things are going well on the shoot. Although in fairness, he's hardy going to say it's going terribly now is he?:)

it's awesome that there seems to be universal praise from the actors now that filming is in a substantial phase.... I understand that actors get coached and there is PR work to do...but someone like Ruffalo or RDJ seem to be fairly maverick in what they'll say..........could be Whedon is on the road to doing the amazing (Marvel pun intended) and pulling off an epic classic

When actors praise working with someone and it isn't a direct answer to a question, then it's usually legit. When they don't like working with someone, they usually don't bring it up at all and/or change the subject.

Yawn....Ruffalo will have to work VERY hard to make me forget about Edward Norton. All this talk about him dragging his knuckles around in the motion capture to make Hulk more "ape-like" has me worried. I thought the last movie did Hulk perfectly. Mark, just do a good job.

I'm a Norton fan as well (and was pissed when he lost the part) but let's be honest... Norton has been phoning it in for years now. Sure he did a pretty good Hulk but it could have been better. I haven't been impressed with Norton's acting since American History X. Ruffalo has been acting his tail off in the here and now,... let's give him a chance.

As a side note, Lou Ferrigno is the only one I want doing the Hulk's voice.

@vtopa-might be mistaken here, but doesn't Alex Ross' version of Hulk have him dragging his knuckles? If so, I thought that was a pretty badass way of re-doing the Hulk.

@ncreb -I hope he's not the voice for Hulk. We need Lou Ferrigno or Fred Tatasciore.

Ferrigno will voice as the Hulk but Tatasciore is by far the best voice for Hulk! Lou is best Hulk ever :)
