Now that we know that Jeremy Renner's character Hawkeye won't have his purple costume in The Avengers, but more of a reality-based uniform, in this interview the actor is giving his thoughts on Joss Whedon directing the upcoming adaptation. Also, he shares some more info on what will he have to learn before they start shooting.

"I've known Joss actually for a long while from doing a little arc on Angel, which was fun."

"He's got a very good sensibility. It's a world he knows very well. He kind of gave me an idea of where the character is going. It's all grounded in reality, which is great. It's a character, Hawkeye, that isn't really a superhero — he just has a high skill set. That's something I can also connect to. I just have to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow!"

Filming is set to begin around February, 2011 for a May 4, 2012 release date. Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg are also starring in the big screen adaptation.
