Possible Identity Of The Aliens in The Avengers

Possible Identity Of The Aliens in The Avengers

I know there have been a lot of theories put out there, but I am seriously onto something here with reason behind it and not just shots in the dark.

In a recent article I came across this image:

It says that Loki is using an artifact called the "Tesseract". The word tesseract is just another word for "cube". Therefore the Tesseract must be the Cosmic Cube.

But when I searched "Tesseract" on Marvel.com it linked me to this web Page about The "Dimensional Envelope"

http://marvel.com/universe/Dimensional_Envelope

If you read the Document, it tells us that the Dimensional envelope was a place were Nova and Cosmo trapped a villain named Abyss and an group made up of many aliens named the Luminals, and while in the Dimensional Envelope Abyss defeated The Luminals and TRANSFORMED THEM INTO HIS OWN ZOMBIE ARMY.

So I am claiming that Abyss' Zombie army is the Alien army in The Avengers. Now I will tell you why this seems to be the most legitimate answer.

1) It will explain Loki's interest in the Cosmic Cube.

2) It would explain that the giant portal in the sky is the opening to the Dimensional Envelope.

3)The Aliens have an uncanny resemblance to the Zombie Army in the Comics, and it would explain why the aliens differ from each other.

Their rocking the same headband!

4)It would also explain where Red Skull went when he touched the Cosmic Cube.

5)Also the fact that Marvel linked Tesseract and Dimensional Envelope together on their website must mean they are trying to hint at something.

6)And last but not least, Abyss and his army have had their conflicts with the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Inhumans, and Nova, so this may be the connection to the upcoming movies, and the comics Marvel has been trying to get into the cinematic universe

I think it is pretty legit. Let me know if you agree of disagree down below.

One of the more plausible theories I've seen. The aliens definitely look zombie-like. Good write up.

you're onto something here, but at this point, I don't think it's that important, they're aliens and thats that. If they were The kree or skrulls it would have been something big, when you go with badoon, and those other reces,it still seems worthy of searching for answers, to me,redacted, retarded, zombies from whoknowswhereville - who cares? it's just an army that is are going to get their asses kicked by the avengers, loki and that flying snake are the only ones that can do great damage. does anyone really think that loki's army will be such a big treat?

Very plausible. Good article.

You are very late on the Terrasect=Cosmic Cube information.

And that resemblance is hardly "uncanny".

I definitely believe this. It would be a good lead up to Nova. Can't wait for this movie!

We know Gardians of the Galaxy is one of the possible future movies, so this is very plausible. Also Dr. Strange and Antman. Nova has not been mentioned yet, so that would be unlikely, although I'd love to see him on the big screen.

Plausible theory, but at this point I doubt anything would surprise me...

I echo many above statements. At this point, it hardly matters who it is, and to be honest, I don't want any confirmation til the movie as it's been one of the most well kept secrets in CBM history. I will say that your idea is incredibly sound. I dig the idea of Red Skull coming back because of this.
Ghostt
Ghostt - 4/4/2012, 4:47 PM
I think you could be correct. But it remains true that this is Loki's Random Army of Interdimensional Aliens that simply are not that important. They are the goon squad, Loki is the villain.

Doesn't matter who they are in the end there all Hulk-fodder as the recent tv spot showed. Loki's the main villain and by the sound of it seems as like causes a ton of danage to the avengers not just physically

CorndogBurglar - 4/5/2012, 3:28 AM
This is actually the best theory yet! Nice work! I think u may be right.

@jjarmstrong

The annihilation wave makes no sense. The annihilation wave is an army of giant bugs. These are clearly not bugs. I never understood how people came to that conclusion, its just grasping at straws.

Interesting idea. here is my view.

.."It says that Loki is using an artifact called the "Tesseract". The word tesseract is just another word for "cube". Therefore the Tesseract must be the Cosmic Cube."
- ok. you say "must be the cosmic cube" as if you have some level of uncertainty with that idea. Allow me to say 'IT IS 100%!, THE TESSERECT IS THE COSMIC CUBE, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT'. Considering they've been establishing the cube for three movies now (IM2- howard starks notebook, Thor- End Credit Scene, and in CA:TFA- the through entire movie.) Here is a quote from Red Skull in the movie. He picks up the fake cube that was buried with a dead viking warrior and then states "The Tesserect was the jewel of Odin's Treasure room, it is not something one buries"

-secondly they dont look like alien zombies, they look like theyre quite capable of thinking 4 them selves.

-Red skull could have really been teleported anywhere in space and in time. if the cube in the movie really has the original function of making deepest desires come true or whatever you want to come true/fruition then lets say Red Skul wanted to walk in the realm of the goads, hell he could of been warped off to Asgard, Olympus or some other pantheon. It would be awesome to see Red Skull on the throne of Asgard when Thor returns to asgard, with asgard partly in ruins.

good idea though, thought id just voice my opinions

Oh and ppl read this if u think the army aint important!
This is a statement by Feige from http://m.au.ign.com/articles/1200649
"[Loki] does say to Tony Stark at the end of the footage we showed today, he tells Tony that he has an army," reiterated Feige somewhat cryptically. "And that army is not just stuntmen in mocap suits. It'll be extremely, extremely large and something that links not only into the movies we've made but the movies we're going to make. So it's a big play that we're not quite ready to talk about."
Ace101
Ace101 - 4/5/2012, 4:33 AM
@CorndogBurglar this is how we came to that conclusion
http://i.annihil.us/u/prod/avengersmovie/site_v2/wallpaper.html?file=assets/images/wallpapers/avengers_wp5_1920.jpg

plus i never thought it actually be the full universal wave jus a relatively large force to take out a planet or something like you see from Annhilus's attempts long before the annhilation storyline.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/5/2012, 4:51 AM
@ Ace101

I went to your link and its just a wallpaper of iron man with debris falling in the background. Nothing about that says anything about it gives even a hint of the annihilation wave.

If your talking about the i.annihil.us URL, then that doesn't mean anything either. Marvel.com was using that URL for many years before even the first Iron Man movie was in production...
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/5/2012, 4:54 AM
@ ace

"like you see from Annhilus's attempts long before the annhilation storyline."

I can kind of see that, only because Annihilus has used all sorts of lackeys in the past. However, you can't call them the Annihilation Wave. The Annihilation Wave was specifically an army of giant bugs, with a small few who were humanoid, like Ravenous. But the main army were bugs.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/5/2012, 4:57 AM
Regardless, this is easily the best theory I've seen anyone post. Its logical, it makes sense with everything we've seen, and their appearance is pretty much uncanny with the looks of the characters in the comics. If there is any theory to get behind, its this one.

Most other theories have just been people posting any alien race they can find in the MU and saying, "hey, it might be them", with little or no logical reasoning.

I think this theory is interesting. However, the aliens don't look very Zombie-ish to me. If you take away the Zombie part the rest of the theory actually sounds quite plausible.

One of the more thought out ideas good job thanks for the write up, I also like what shark said about it not originally being lokis army. We've been exposed to ALOT of this movie already, I'm really hoping for that " oh sht didn't see that coming!" Plot line. Otherwise im afraid the film wont feel as climatic as originally anticipated.

How does that not look like an undead alien? it looks almost skeletonized. Come on, this dude is clearly onto something.

Doesn't Thanos deal with Death? Undead looking aliens. Blue-ish skin. Gold plated armor. Involved with the Cosmic Cube. Joss Whedon's original species -- Thanos' Minions.

@CorndogBurglar

Exactly! Thank you. Annihilation Wave doesn't make sense-- but the fanboys are so [frick]ing stubborn about the logic on that theory. Loki's army don't look like bugs.
felixxx
felixxx - 4/5/2012, 11:24 PM
How do they not look like undead creatures? When I look at that picture, I see a skullish looking face. It could very easily be seen as an undead alien. I just asked 3 people sitting around me at work (who are in there 40s and 50s and couldn’t care any less about this movie) what the picture looks like, they all said skeleton or skeleton warrior. blahblahboy theory is the ONLY one thats made any sense so far.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/6/2012, 5:54 AM
@ 3D

haha. I don't even know if you can call them fanboys, because i'm pretty sure that hardcore fanboys would know what the Annihilation Wave looked like, and would know that these guys look NOTHING like them. I'm more inclined to think that the people who are thinking this is the Annihilation Wave just don't really follow comics very much at all. But I could be wrong...

Either way, its a ridiculous to think this is the Wave.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/6/2012, 5:59 AM
@ 3D

Also, "stubborn" is a good word. Even after we have a totally clear picture of what the aliens look like, they still want to say they think its the Annihilation Wave? lol, its funny. Nonsensical, but funny.
