Cameras are still rolling on HBO Max's Batgirl movie in Glasgow, Scotland, and this latest video from the set gives us a first glimpse of Brendan Fraser (Doom Patrol, The Mummy) as Firefly.

Though there was some uncertainty surrounding Fraser's role in the film when his casting was first announced, it's since been confirmed that he is indeed playing the villainous Garfield Lynns. We're still not sure how the character will be introduced or what connection he'll have to Leslie Grace's Barbara Gordon, but if this video is any indication, it looks like he will be based on the sociopathic pyromaniac who was introduced post-Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The footage shows Fraser calmly strolling across the street as smoke billows from a building behind him. Towards the end of the shot, he turns around, seemingly admiring his handiwork. Lynns is not in costume here (obviously), but we assume he will suit-up at some point in the movie.

Batgirl will also star J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon, and Jacob Scipio in an undisclosed role (recent set photos indicated that he will be a friend of Batgirl's). It's also been confirmed that Michael Keaton's Batman will appear.

Loki composer Natalie Holt recently announced that she's signed on to work on the movie's score, while Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and also worked on Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the most recent draft of the script.

The HBO Max movie is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. No release date has been announced.
