BATMAN AND ROBIN's Alicia Silverstone Thinks She'd Do A Better Job As BATGIRL Now; Open To Cameo In New Film
During a new interview, Alicia Silverstone reflects on her performance in the universally reviled Batman and Robin, and says she'd be up for a cameo in Joss Whedon's upcoming Batgirl movie...
It's fair to say nobody came out of Joel Schumacher's Batman And Robin smelling of roses, but Alicia Silverstone's take on Batgirl, in particular, was... well, it was bloody awful, to be frank.
Silverstone hasn't revisited the CBM genre since, but during an interview with USA Today to promote her latest movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, the actress reflected on the role, and said she thinks she'd do a much better job with the character now:
“I feel like I could do a much better Batgirl now than I did then. It would be fun to tackle it again… Because I’m older and my acting is better. I know I would bring so much more to it. I was just a baby. It was a different thing. But I had fun back then. And I think it would be fun to do it again.”
Suiting up as the DC heroine again may not be in the cards, but what about appearing in some capacity in Joss Whedon's planned Batgirl movie? “I’m open to anything," replied Silverstone when asked about the possibility. "Whatever people bring to me and whatever the best choice is for that time.”
In related news, it seems there's already talk of a Wonder Woman sequel (though obviously nothing is set in stone just yet), but that Batgirl film is next on the agenda:
