Given the recent controversy surrounding Joss Whedon and the fact that the Justice League movie he worked on is underperforming, it wouldn't be too hard to believe if The Avengers director  wound up parting ways with his planned Batgirl Movie. So, when a rumor broke earlier today claiming that this very thing had happened, it didn't seem too far fetched.

However, EW has now reached out to their sources and confirmed that Whedon is still very much involved with the project and is currently hard at work on the script.

Of course, this doesn't mean that situation can't or won't change at some point (the DCEU doesn't seem like the most stable of franchises, after all), but as of right now, Joss Whedon's Batgirl is still a thing.
