Batman & Robin is widely hailed as one of the worst superhero movies of all-time, but it wasn't all bad, and an argument could be made that it was a lot of fun spending time with Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl. However, comic book fans weren't overly happy, especially as Barbara Gordon was re-imagined as Barbara Wilson, Alfred Pennyworth's niece!
Joe Schumacher's DC Comics adaptation earned Silverstone a Razzie for "Worst Supporting Actor," but she countered that with the Kid's Choice Award for "Favourite Movie Actress."
Now, Silverstone has admitted that she would love the chance to suit up as this female Caped Crusader again. "I like it when I get to do the fighting scenes with Uma Thurman," she told Collider in a recent interview. "That’s fun. But I’d like to do it all over again as this woman! [Laughs] I think it would be much better now."
Batman & Robin was supposed to receive a sequel, but Warner Bros. changed their plans, and we ultimately ended up with Batman Begins instead. As for Batgirl, Joss Whedon was attached to write and direct a movie starring the character, but he was later replaced by Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson. Since then, we've not really had any major updates.
Do you guys think Silverstone could play another superhero on the silver screen?
