In Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever, miniatures of the Batwing and Batman (Val Kilmer) were required for the scenes leading up to confrontation at Claw Island. That is where Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) and the Riddler (Jim Carrey) have taken Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman). In the video below, you can watch as The Batwing zooms through the Bat Cave and emerges in the Gotham City sky. Batman's plane is later shot down by The Riddler and then becomes a mini-submarine.

The McCune Design team created a 1/6th scale cave interior, and a highly detailed Bat Plane that hung and launched from the cave ceiling. In addition, extensive labyrinths of tunnels were built for high-speed P.O.V. views from the plane as it exited the Bat Cave. Other scenes required the creation The Arkham Asylum exterior and a highly detailed Gotham Alley. When the alley dead ends, The Bat Mobile raced up a vertical wall. - McCune Design

My favorite Batwing will always be from the one in BTAS.
First time seeing it was in Batman: Subzero. Talk about childhood memories.

ass kicker vehicles, as a kid i loved this movie. When the trailer came out i flipped out. The joel schumacher movies get too much hate, they were awesome as a kid. whoever hates them was simply born after the 1991 and checked them out in nostalgia critic.

The cinematography was extravagant in Batman Forever, and was rightfully recognized for it. The score and set design was superb too, I'll give it that. And I can't help but enjoy Carrey in the film, even though he was more like Joker 2.0 rather than the Riddler.

Imagine what Schumacher could have done had WB let him adapt Year One like he originally wanted to.

It'd be interest and something worth checking for myself, at least.

That cowl is the sickest. Maybe not all the extra lines, but the general structure is the best I've seen in the movies. Kilmer looks like BATMAN from the 70s comics.

@Batmaniac No that title belongs to Batman & Robin or Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. To me Batman Forever is the 3rd best Batman film behind only 1) Batman Begins and 2) The Dark Knight.

@MightyZeus That Batwing looks more like a bat than "The Bat" did. Which looked absolutely nothing like a bat at all.

The Batman and Superman films are parallel to each other not that you think of it:

Batman 1/Superman 1: Both were huge critically and commercially

Batman Returns/ Superman 2: Both were good and made equally or close to the original's amount but for some reason the director's got canned after this.

Batman Forever/Superman 3: Good movies, not great and they made a modest profit.

Batman and Robin/Superman 4: Utter shit.

As much crap as Joel Schumacher gets for Batman Forever it had great production design, particularly the various Bat-vehicles. If only he invested as much care in getting a script worth filming, getting rid of the overt homoeroticism and garish color schemes.

These Schumacher films are absolute garbage, but I totally love them because they were part of my childhood (back when I didn't take films seriously at all and just enjoyed them for what they were)---- I will watch these 100 times over gladly.
