DUNKIRK's Barry Keoghan Has His Eye On ROBIN Role, And It Sounds Like He Might Have Spoken To WB About It

Young Irish actor Barry Keoghan is going to find himself in high demand after being hailed as one of the breakout stars of Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, but there's one role in particular he has his eye on.

If any of you have ever watched Irish crime drama series Love/Hate, you'll no doubt recognize Barry Keoghan as murderous teenage thug, Wayne - but since then the young actor has gone on to garner a lot of acclaim for roles in the likes of Mammal, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and most recently Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk.

Movie offers are sure to come pouring in now, but Keoghan seems to have his eye on one role in particular.

During an interview with Entertainment.ie, the subject of comic book movies inevitably came up, and Keoghan revealed that he's always been more fascinated by Robin than Batman and would love to play the character. When asked if he's actually spoken to anyone about the possibility, the 24-year-old Dubliner seems to hesitate, possibly indicating that he has indeed had some sort of discussions with the studio.

After all, having Christopher Nolan's ear on the matter certainly can't hurt!

Check out the video interview for yourselves HERE and see if you think there's anything to this, or Keoghan is just having some fun.

Too goofy-looking for Dick, Jason feels odd, but Tim Drake could work.

Sidenote: It sure feels good to be back.

@Philip - Well, Dick is Nightwing and Jason is dead

@Philip - Nah homie, my brother Charlie Rowe should be the one heading the Titans as Tim Drake. Would've been a dope Peter Parker too

@PrinceAwesome - I like that casting with Charlie Row as Tim. I think if this Barry is interested they should give him the Jason role. Do some flashbacks and show how Joker took him out and let him return as Redhood. His "unique look" will play better as someone who has been resurrected, bloodthirsty, and, well, under a hood.

He's 24. I don't know anything about him but does he look younger than 24? I always wanted a kid Robin. Chris O'Donnell looked like he was 30 during those movies. Movie had 99 problems but but Robin looking young wasn't one. Oh and @Phil welcome back?

@RorMachine - good. Think its important for the dynamic. An old Robin doesn't work for me

I'd prefer no Robin in the DCEU.
Dick has already become Nightwing and Jason has died. No need for another.

@Lostcause - As a bat-fan it would be cool to see all Bat-characters on the big screen, but narratively speaking I dont think Batman shouldve ever taken another Robin after Jason's death.
Especially a child. Kinda [frick]ed up.
