Like Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Batman is set to take this character down a slightly more grounded route. That's not a bad thing, of course, especially after Zack Snyder embraced the comic books for Ben Affleck's version of the character (which meant we got to see him don outlandish armour and share the screen with Superman and Wonder Woman).
In Matt Reeves' movie, we'll find the World's Greatest Detective in the second year of fighting crime in Gotham City. A newly surfaced 4K image (via CBR) reveals a much closer look at his Batsuit, including various pieces of armour the vigilante has attached and ever a few battle scars.
It's a great costume, and we're definitely excited to see it in action next month. There is now less than a month to go before The Batman arrives, and we cannot wait to return to Gotham City. It going to be quite the year for the Caped Crusader, too, as both Affleck and Michael Keaton will don their own Batsuits in The Flash. We're also expecting Batgirl to arrive on HBO Max later this year.
The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.
Joining Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.
The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.
